St. John Parish is the worst. I remember almost going to jail and having my car impounded for allegedly doing 90 in a 70 and swerving at 4am on my way to Baton Rouge from New Orleans.

The ticket was $400 and I was told to pull over at the rest stop and sleep it off until dawn or else go to jail.

Well were you driving like a fricktard or not?

I wasn't going anywhere near 90.

But you were swerving?

Let me guess. You were completely innocent and they just decided to frick with you and force you to sleep at a rest stop just for giggles.

+1. Golden Meadow is the absolute worst.

ETA: Port Fourchon Harbor Police isn't very far behind either.

Just to add something, I got a ticket there and sent in a money order to pay it. I thought nothing of it til I had to renew my DL, I had to go back down there and pay it again. It still pisses me off when I think about it.

Am I reading this right? Sleep it off? Are you saying you were drunk?

I had two tickets, two weeks apart in SJP. Call the DA, explain the situation and they will probably just make you pay a fine. I didn't even have to do the Article 894.

Is there a difference in the fine. Every ticket I've gotten has a fine for 1-29 over at once amount and then anything 30 and above is a higher fine

Denham Springs PD did this to me. Called my mom's house (haven't lived there in 20ish years), and told her that there was a bench warrant out for me.

I paid the shite in person, and know I paid it in person back in 2007-08, because I had to call a friend that lived in DS to ask him how to find the place. He even remembered that shite.

I called about it, they asked me if I had a receipt. From five fricking years (and three moves ago). No a-hole, I do not.

I'm sure they all work out of the same revenue generation playbook.

Was the officer's name Joe Larose? He did almost this exact same thing to me in Laplace in September. I even made a thread about it here, which ended-up not doing me a whole lot of good.

I had the cruise on 74, and the cocksucker said I was going 85 (which I never, ever do). I had even passed him previously a few minutes prior. Long story short, I went to the "courthouse" (more like a KofC hall) on my date and told guy (I'm assuming the ADA) exactly what happened, and he dropped it down to the speed I was going and charged me with "defective equipment" (non-moving violation). So I ended-up paying $184, whereas it would have been $204 had I not contested it but at least it didn't go on my record. The ADA is actually really nice & helpful. I was in and out of the courthouse in 15 minutes. If you go, you don't have to wait around until 9am. You can go in earlier and you'll be seen within a few minutes. Also, the cops aren't there, so I don't know how it works if you want to "face your accuser".

Good luck. It's total bullshite what they're doing down there. It may be time for someone to contact the state attorney to look into the scam they're running in that shithole.

Let me guess it was dickhead deputy Michael Scott Boyington. I had my cruise set on 65 coming off the bridge from LaPlace and he pulled me

over and said I was doing 80. Wouldn't let me see the radar, so frick St. John parish.
