You're delusional if you don't think race plays at least a part in the desire to keep Baton Rouge intact. You want people's kids to be forced to submit to unelected bureaucrats' ideas of social engineering that could possible be detrimental to their education and their lives, but those are the dues that must be sacrificed on the altar of diversity.

I'm not saying its the main driving force but if you're saying that race plays NO part at all then you're laughably delusional

They should have known that PBS was going to make them look bad.

You want better schools. Thats fine. That's admirable.

Just tell people that you think your kids will do better in math if they didn't have to share a classroom with those colored kids

Why are they living in 3rd world squalor? Are Asian, white, Jewish, etc. doing something black people (you said it was about race not me) are incapable of doing?

Seriously, enough of the blame whitey. Blame the system. Blame slavery.

Only stupid liberals like those at PBS could cover this and gloss over the above question. Only a shite for brains liberal could look at this and not wonder what happened to personal responsibility. You want to talk about racist, continuing to deny the state of black people in America is the most racist thing. No one wants to stop and go "oh yeah, why is it mostly black people that live in poverty and commit crime?" Why is it only this race that is behind the curve? Because until the MSM takes notice and drops the intellectually dishonest ideas of white privilege, then black people will continue to be segregated from the rest of society (which includes more than just white people)

If those people are that afraid of having their lily white kids attend school with people of other races, maybe they should consider paying for private school. But oh the humanity, private schools also have multiple races!

Would it help if we said we want our children to go to schools like all the Yankee children...since they aren't racist up north

Lemme tell ya something Mulder, they know.

The educated black population in Baton Rouge is embarrassed as Hell at what's become of that city. They are a morally, financially, spiritually, intellectually, and ethically bankrupt people.

St. George exposes them for the frauds they are. The black population can't be helped by the white St. George citizens. It's a failed experiment. The place was better off segregated IMO.

It's funny though. Those wanting the better schools have data to justify their desires, and that data does not expressly mention race. However, those on the other side, like you, only have the appeal to race to justify their desire, and yet you're the ones screaming racism. I find that odd.

I'm not screaming anything but if I hear someone say something as delusional as St. George has nothing to do with race then I am going to laugh at the dumbass who said it.

St George is about rich white people wanting to live and send their children to school with other rich white people. Thats fine if that's what you want to do but don't act like it has nothing to do with race

Nice troll. Anybody have the racial breakdown of crimes committed in EBR parish? Guess I would be racist to point out the obvious on that situation.

Why don't they want their kids going to school with black kids in your opinion?

Well, there is an educated black population in Baton Rouge.

They are more corrupt than anything in that town.

So if you get up and go to work everyday to provide for your family, and don't want your kids shot at, or stabbed, or exposed to drugs, or rape, or a violent culture devoid of intellect and morals, decency and humanity, that makes you rich?

Jesus.

So you're saying that if the Baton Rouge school populations were exactly the same, yet their performance standards were drastically improved, and the school system was well-functioning, the St. George proponents would be acting exactly the same way and pushing for independence? Is that what you're saying? Before you answer, remember that it's your side that has to rely on express references to race to assert its POV.

How, exactly? I live in the St. George zone and I don't care what color the kids are who go to our neighborhood school, just as long as they live in this neighborhood. There's no reason for all of this bussing everywhere.

I'm not saying that your wish to leave isn't justified. If I had kids who had to go to this shitty school district I'd probably feel the same as you do and race would have something to do with that feeling.

I'm neither a proponent or an opponent of St. George. I quite frankly couldn't give a shite but I find it hilarious that people lie to themselves and everyone else and say it has nothing to do with race. It does and you know it

Why do "rich" white people not want their children in school with black people?
