From the grumpy grandpa in the airport thread. I understand you can't wear them to work and funerals but if you're shopping or flying, why not be comfortable? If your junk isn't hanging out, I don't see the harm.

At least class it up a bit with some pajama dress pants.

I've never understood why the OT feels the need for other people to approve of their outfit.

You want to wear pajamas in public-do it

it demonstrates the person wearing them is lazy and self-absorbed. They have no pride in anything. Its just another continuation of lowering the standards of everything.

When I see people in pajamas at the grocery store or other public places I immediately judge them and assume they are slobs. Then I am jealous that I haven't attained that level of IDGAF. Maybe someday.

Wow, that's a lot to extrapolate from someone liking comfort. So what's an acceptable attire for shopping then? Shorts OK? Is a tie necessary or just preferred?

I do and will continue to. This thread is about where to draw the line. Movies? Park? Nice restaurant?

No matter what you wear, your class is more defined by your behavior than your clothes. I'll take a pj wearing slacker who holds the door open over a suited up a-hole who's cursing in public any day.

When I see people in public wearing pajama pants and flip-flops I immediately believe they are viet cong or followers of Mohammed.

Come tell that to a few people that work here. Please.

Okay, it's actually just one person.

I would drape myself in velvet if it were socially acceptable.

It's true I've dabbled in East Asian communism and Islam. But the PJ's have nothing to do with either, it's a personal choice.

I used to be a member of Anytime Fitness and a guy would come in early in the morning in pajama pants and Homer Simpson house slippers and walk on the treadmill. I always expected him to flip out one day so I kept an eye on him at all times.

Mighty fine outlook on life, my friend

I'm not self-conscious whether wearing my workout clothes, slacks and a button up or suit and tie. Your confidence, vibe, conversational skills, and general politeness to people trumps all of that.

I like going a few days straight dressing "down", then bust out some top shelf threads and get the 'whoa, nice!' reaction unintentionally
