Pas de deaux-From the nutcracker
For our first dance we did ballroom dancing style. We went to 6 lessons during the weeks leading up to the wedding. We felt prepared and that we were in good shape and ready.
On the wedding day, my mind totally went blank and I developed 2 left feet. She has to coach me through everything, she basically had to lead me through all the steps lol. Not my finest moment

Skinny Love - Bon Iver sung by my wife's brother
which is a terrible wedding song since the song is about love that is based on shallow things/values, but it was my wife's favorite song at the time

Grow old with you from the Wedding Singer.

Crazy Love- Van Morrison
It was played by a Motown band, sung by a 300lb black lady. Definitely had a Motown twist to it, but it was awesome.

Because by Dave Clark Five
Additionally, I play in a classic rock cover band. The rest of the band sang this with an acoustic guitar. They did the organ solo vocally. It was very cool.

We had a small wedding and didn't really have the traditional first dance. We did dance to Billie Holiday's This Is Heaven To Me at some point during the reception. It was planned though, so I guess it was the first dance.

We couldn't decide between that one and the Garth Brooks version of To Make You Feel My Love. We ended up with Garth.

I wanna grow old with you from the wedding singer.

Sea of Love - The Honeydrippers
SAME.
We both liked the song; and it had special meaning to me because once when we were dating but miles apart for a short while, she sang it over the phone to me.
Another neat factor; a year or so ago my daughters and I were a road trip. Oldest daughter was in charge of the music, and was playing some Led Zeppelin. We were also talking about weddings, when something I never noticed before suddenly hit me-- for that 1st dance together my wife and I actually danced to a song sung by the lead singer of LED ZEPPELIN.
As a child of the 70s and a Zeppelin fan from those days myself, I think that was kind of cool.
Also, 30 years this November!
