I've never understood the obsession with boarding first.

I always forget to check in ahead so I'm usually in a late boarding group, but I don't care about sitting in the middle seat, so I still end up getting off the plane before a bunch of people that were in such a rush to beat me onto the plane.

The answer now is overhead bin space. You get on last, you'll have to gate check. And they've stopped unloading the gate check bags right outside the door of the plane.

My best flights have always been boarding first. But thats only because it was first class. I had tons of room, free coctails, and televisions to watch . I didnt care if it took 40 minutes for the rest of the passengers to get on. But otherwise, the only reason to board first is if its first come first serve and i have a shot at the first few rows. I absolutely hate waiting to deboard.

This! Once they started charging for checked bags, everyone has carry-ons now.

Southwest probably averages 80% occupancy of an average of 130 seats. About 19 million Americans claim some kind of motor disability which is around 5% of the population. It doesn't take a Dr to do the math...should be 3 to 7 disabled people on the flight, not 23

You're ignoring time of day, origin and destination of the flight, and any groups that may be traveling together.

I expect a lot more wheelchairs when I'm flying from ATL-DAB or RSW on a Friday afternoon than ATL-LGA on a Monday morning.

Generally speaking, I agree that 23 wheelchairs passengers on one flight is way more than usual. I don't think I've ever seen more than 7 or 8 on one flight. However, I think your presumption that most of the 23 were scamming the system is ridiculous. Much more than likely, you know exactly NOTHING about those passengers and what infirmities or medical issues they may (or may not) have.

I truly believe that some really need the assistance and have no problem with that. I just think the system needs to be adjusted to deal with the abuse. Do they need a note from a doctor? It just reminds me of the scooter issue in Disney. The people that need it get shite on because of the people milking the system.

I also get annoyed by the guy who grabs his carry-on from the overhead compartment and takes his sweet time loading up his neck pillow and kindle before exiting the aisle.

Pre boarders don't bother me, but people that are slow getting off the plane grinds my gears pretty good.

Not in Baton Rouge, Dallas, Charlotte or Milwaukee they haven't. And that's all from the past two days.

I hate when the fatties use them. Fat isn't a disability, id just shoot myself if I were so fat I couldn't walk.

I was never a fan of the free for all for Southwest seats. I have a much more pleasant experience with Delta Airlines.

This....but the problem is made worse when there is no assigned seating and bags end up in overhead bins behind some of the passengers who board later. It makes getting off the jet that much more time consuming.

Southwest is a top 3 airline for timeliness and customer service. That's all I will contribute to the haters.
