Soldier's Uniform for Halloween

My son is 12 and found his grandfather's old Class A Army uniform from the 70's. It actually fits pretty good (can't believe my old man was that small when he was in the Army) and wants to wear it for trick or treating. I have some of the insignia and ribbons from my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Would this be an appropriate costume for him? It's likely his last year to trick or treat and really wants to wear it. My mother is worried someone will get all bent out of shape because of all the stolen valor issues. I think it's okay; he wants to be in the military when he finishes high school and respects all military. What do y'all think?

I don't think anyone is gonna scream stolen valor during halloween on a kids costuke.

I wouldn't let him wear it just because he might lose it. I also think it's disrespectful on some levels.

12 years-old? No problem with it at all.

Screw the haters. Do what makes you and him happy.

He's 12. Not sure thats a problem. If someone actually does throw a fit, tell him your son did it in honor of his grandfather and then kick their arse.

He will sweat his balls off, but I don't see an issue.

Well, if he is honoring his grandfather's sacrifice for our country... I'd be ecstatic to call him my son

He's 12. If you actually encounter some douche veteran bent out of shape over this, kindly tell him to get fricked.
Also, he's wearing the uniform as a costume and not impersonating anyone.
No issue with this

Nah you're a pussy arse bitch. I wouldn't want some snot nose 12 year old trick or treating with my ribbons or any credentials I earned. frick you.

It's only stolen Valor when you present yourself as being in the military when you are not.
If you wear the uniform in a play or movie you are not stealing valor. I would consider costumes a form of art and more the latter than the former.

1. It's not a religious relic.
2. Tell that to every single military surplus store, and tell the military you don't want them to sell surplus and no-longer-used uniforms. Tell them you require they burn it in a ceremony.

Good thing this is America and he can do whatever he wants and assholes like you can't do a damn thing about it except whine and complain like the SJW you are. Sorry about your miserable life btw.

I think your son wanting to honor his grandfather is a very awesome thing.
He's gonna sweat like a MOTHER FKR though.

What a douche. He's not wearing some random guy's ribbons. They were his grandfather's. Doubt his grandfather thinks of him as a "snot nose 12 year old".
Get fricked loser. I bet you yell at kids to get off your lawn.

I'm gonna take a wild guess that you've never earned any ribbons or credentials to be stolen anyway
