In position in Toccoa, GA. It will be 100% totality here.

ETA: For my fellow Band of Brothers fans, Currahee looks super imposing. I ain't runnin' up that hill!

Looks like there is an Uncle Scrooge downvoting almost every reply in this thread. Sorry you have disdain for people enjoying something uncommon and interesting.

Here's the explanation I've gotten. When you are outside on a sunny day, your pupils retract to a small size because of the excess of light. When you are in the dark, your pupils expand to take in as much light as possible. Staring at the sun is always bad, even when your pupils are tiny and the light and UV damage can be serious. But during an eclipse our stupid eyes don't register that it's still bright as a sun (when not at 100% totality) so your pupils dont shrink and you take in more light than you normally would on a sunny day. So by that logic, it really is dangerous.

Now I'm still tempted to look at it half way for like 5 seconds. Just to say I saw it.

People are still circling the parking lot

They seriously need to put lot full signs out

I see all these out of state license plates. What were they thinking they could just roll in here an hour early and get a spot. My arse got here at 7am
