I also misread and thought this car was on the lawn. Not as big of a deal if it's in the driveway, and they might not be breaking any rules.

I'm imagining the vehicle is not in working condition since it was towed in. If that's the case I would bet it's a violation.

I don't mind HOA's but they tend to go a little too far. No one is going to tell me that I can't fly my LSU flag on game day.

Whatever you do don't rent a backhoe while they are gone of vacation and bury the truck in their backyard. Or if you do, call before you dig.

Damn...do you live in Tuscaloosa?

That's pretty rough. Never seen that one, especially I'm SEC country.

I've always though that on general, they have decent rules but fail to enforce them. Like putting a trash can out at the curb before pickup day. Good rule IMO, no one wants to smell week-old rotting meat while walking down the sidewalk. But they never enforce this.

I know you have to give people some leeway (out of town of pickup day, etc) but we have some repeat offenders that just let their can stay out at the street for days.

I love when I watch those repeat offenders bring their trash out to the can that's still at the street days after pickup and still don't bother to bring it back off the curb.

F me running that drives me nuts

One guy in my old neighborhood left his out for a while and something dog/raccoon/coyote got in and scattered trash all over his yard.

It was kinda nice watching him spend half an hour cleaning that up

There are HOA's that don't allow any kind of flags. That is crossing the line. shite like the trashcans is acceptable. I do have a white trash brother that lives in a neighborhood that only a year ago started an HOA. He never agreed to anything so they can't tell him shite. It is funny when they come to house and try and enforce the rules.

Are you actively trying to sell your property? Or trying to rent it out?

No, I'm not trying to sell. I'm just joking about contacting the HOA. The HOA folks do drive around from time to time so this will probably take care of itself. If they are trying to restore it, it should be placed in the garage or behind the fence in the backyard. That's the proper place for it.

That will be nice when it's restored.

I actually like that truck. Think if he just repainted it and lifted the front end to a reasonable height. Would look awesome.

Yeah, I don't really think "trashy" when I see that out front. It's clearly a restoration project. But I agree it doesn't need to be sitting out front indefinitely since it's obviously not operational.

I'd much prefer that to some beat up early 90s truck.

At least people aren't going to assume it's a daily driver, it's obviously a project and kind of a unique one.

No. They just won't make an offer to begin with.

I think you're underestimating how discriminating house hunters could be, especially if a woman is involved.

Is he actively selling the house right this instant? I'm guessing no. And if not, worry about property values is just some abstract and theoretical complaint. The truck won't be there forever.

What it really comes down to is you don't want to look at someone's janked out rusted truck on your block, which I can't blame you. But for some reason it's more socially acceptable to talk about "property values."

Appears to be a project truck, and is probably too long for the garage.

I recently had to deal with a neighbor on this. Lots of people hate to talk to the neighbor first in the event they don't change the behavior and you have to go to the HOA therefore making you feel like a tattling a-hole. However 90% of the time even the most backwoods redneck neighbor will change their behavior if they feel it bothers someone else.

If they don't and going forward they think you're an a-hole then you don't need that neighbor anyhow. This isn't fricking high school. frick that guy if he can't get right.

edit for just seeing the picture: I don't know what sort of neighborhood you live in but that's a project truck and it seems pretty clean other than being old. It's also parked on the concrete and backed in(probably to hide the no plate situation) Go talk to your neighbor as they're clearly somewhat considerate.
