Nobody in this thread said it was a cure-all for junkies, it's not. But it is a bit concerning that an unelected group of individuals made something illegal for reasons that aren't in the best interest of the population.

Can we agree on that at least?

So would one need to head to the Ra shop for this or is there another option before it goes away?

This is what happens when there's a natural, less addictive remedy to pain medicine.

Actually, this is what happens when people claim to use it as an alternative to opiates, but every single person who says that is actually using it in addition to opiates.

during the alabama debate i heard many people buy into the FDA line of hallucinations , respiratory depression, and impairment hook line and sinker, including local media.

I don't have a clue about the hallucinations or respiratory depression, but my personal experience is that it can definitely make you much too impaired to drive if you take enough.

My problem with it is that it was unregulated and half the time there wasn't even any kratom in the shite.

always wonder if these shills really believe this shite. Like do people really think the DEA is doing this for their safety and not because some shitbag pharma lobbyist is greasing their palms?

The whole 'cocaine is the devil' campaign came after Our entire government was busted procuring cocaine to fund cia interests. Is it harmless? Not at all. But it certainly wasn't nearly as dangerous as Nancy wanted us to believe and it especially pales in comparison to opiates and meth (both were around long before the coke epidemic in this country).

Kratom is great can be used for general pain, headache, anxiety, depression. Some strains sleep, some strains focus and alertness.

Most of the issue is them taking it away because it's dangerous opiate, when it's actually the opposite, a safe alternative that can ween users off hard drugs.

Any fans of r/Kratom?

And the ban has no set date, but could be anytime

You familiar with moon kratom Lucas? I've been ordering from them for years. Best prices and quality anywhere. I've been stocking up the past couple weeks. They say they're going to keep shipping until further notice so we'll see what happens

It's a little weird that something goes from perfectly legal to schedule one over night. Is there any precedence for something like this?

LSD was manufactured and sold legally by Sandoz Labs in the 50s and 60s. Sandoz marketed it for a variety of different uses, one of which was for psychiatry students to take it so they could better understand schizophrenic states of mind. It then started to spread to the public in the mid-60s, and became a recreational thing to do. Ken Kesey's acid test parties in the mid-60s, where they'd spike the punch with acid and all trip balls while bands like Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane played, were all legal. It was outlawed in '68.
