Went to the shop to grab some (all of which I will consume tonight cause I'm not a criminal), and the owner gave me a long shpeel about what might or might not happen tomorrow. They got rid of most of their inventory and boxed up the rest to hand over to the cops if they show up tomorrow.

Anybody know how this works? It's a little weird that something goes from perfectly legal to schedule one over night. Is there any precedence for something like this? Any blood sucking lawyers or law enforcement that can shed light on the protocol?

This thing is so fricking stupid. I actually bought some of this recently just for the frick of it. You could take a TON of this and it wouldn't endanger anybody any more than two beers would.

God damn travesty, what it is.

It's probably just like the 4Loko ban a few years ago.

If people are sucking dick for a drug it should be illegal. If not it's fair game.

Yes sir. By the DEA under pressure from our awesome pharmaceutical industry. They've tried to get bills passed prior but not enough elected officials would bite so they backdoored it through a federal agency.

Sounds like you've got a one month window to monopolize the market before the gangbangers and Russkies set up shop.

the pharmaceutical companies are trying to acquire patents for the two active ingredients in kratom, follow the money trail. The DEA literally had to scour the country to find 15 kratom deaths and those deaths also showed opiates in the system, kinda like drinking drano and orange juice and blaming the death on the OJ.
but if you even buy that they died from kratom alone compare the to the thousands that have died from aspirin, tylenol and ibuprofen.

The market is there bruh. My ne'er-do-well cousin is gonna stock up and start handing out capsules for hand jobs. Those kratom junkies give great handies.

Once again the DEA is reinforcing the black market hand job market in the name of "public safety", bastards.

Preaching to the choir bro. I think it was the Washington Post that did a good article on the DEA's justification for it and it was fricking laughable. Roughly 675 calls to poison control (none of which resulted in serious illness) was a main contributing factor, less than a half a percent for all poison control calls and zero percent of fatal ones. But it's "an epidemic".

Not much honestly. Think of it as anti caffeine. As much as coffee peps up, it chils you out about as much.
