Why raise your deductible... That makes no sense. You really think raising your deductible to $500-$1000 saves you money?
Go get an agent that you can trust with your shite... I know mine and I can call him anytime, Not get his secretary or a CSR who does all his work.

I have Gieco and pay $100 a month for full coverage with a $500 deductible on a 2009 Silverado. 25 with one speeding ticket on my record. Not a bad deal.

For the most part, carrier makes no difference. You can call Geico/SF/Nationwide/Allstate/etc in different locations, online, and the 1-800 #'s and get a different quote from each of them. In today's market, it pays to jump around every few months to get the best rate.
FWIW, I use Geico right now and got the local office, the "website", and the 1-800 # to all compete to get a discount. I've actually got one of the better homeowner's rates I've heard of in Louisiana.

And for all the Geico/Progressive sunshine pumpers talking smack. If you wrecked your vehicle today, they would have 85-90% aftermarket put on their cars.

That number's a bit high but yes, they will tell the shop to use a lot of aftermarket parts but State Farm pushes used and reconditioned and aftermarket too.
No matter who your insurance company is, please read this and keep it handy. The insurance company owes to make your vehicle whole regardless of what shop you use for repairs no matter what. If they try to tell you that your shop is charging for "things they don't pay for" read that to them or have your attorney read it to them.
All insurance companies want to repair your vehicle for the lowest price possible. It doesn't mean you pay less for premiums or pay less of a deductible. The savings isn't passed on to you at all, it just means more profit for CEO's and shareholders.
Eta: full coverage does not mean rental. A lot of times you have to ask for a rental policy. Please do, it's cheap.

Last week State Farm quoted us $230 for 50/100/50 with $500/$0 deductibles for collision/comp. Geico quoted us $155 for the same coverage

The quote on Geico.com was lower, when I called Geico though they wouldn't lower it to the quote. She asked me if I had entered the VIN on my car and I responded no, she told me that was the difference. I asked if it would be a 30 dollar a month difference and she responded affirmative, did it again online with vin and came back same price, so I called again and they wouldn't budge my current numbers.
I had been with Geico for 7 years previously and never had a complaint, however, my premium has raised considerably over the past 2 years.

Wait for it...
Renewal premiums.
Renewal premiums.

They get you on the renewals... You people who switch around for $10 a month every few months realize that you cost yourself more money right? Personally... I'm paying $10-$20 more a month because I know I'm gonna get treated right when the shite hits the fan.

I'm a shitty driver and I pay about 100 for SF. Also, SF has been pretty good to us, my multitude of accidents and all.
When I split off from my parents insurance they let me keep their loyalty discount, plus school discount, plus multi line (rental) to keep my premiums low even in the pre-25 "trouble years"

I'll never deal with State Farm again. They dropped me after 18 years of never missing a payment for a fender bender that cost them $500 (there was a scratch on my car, so I claimed nothing). The other car required a paint touch up on the bumper. I'm paying $30 less a month now with geico.

Other quotes with same coverage as I got
ESurance- 161.77
Progressive- 191.10
Geico- 145.22
The General- 151.18
Uhhh, so you had Geico and switched to State Farm even though Geico had the lowest rate? Even lower than SF for same coverage???
