try not being retarded and read what he said. when you start talking about taking constitutional rights away then you aren't mentally stable enough to discuss small changes

Is anyone saying that?

Pretty sure people are only saying that with more restrictions, you are only hurting law abiding citizens, not criminals.

Small changes...come on...look at precedent in history. When are "small changes" ever left at that?

Those "small changes" are piled on until one day the big change is here.

Just a reminder to everyone in this thread that all gun and ammo purchases in Louisiana are tax free this weekend.

I'm going to get a new pistol.

Emotional responses instead of logical ones from some grieving parents.

People that want gun control are fricking retarded.
Guns aren't killing, stupid F'd up people are.

oh i agree you can't really budge with those in dc because it all goes down hill. Im just saying the guy isn't asking for small things. He is off his rocker letting a personal tragedy affect his view.

better background checks so these mentally ill people can't get guns.
You can have a discussion about amending the Constitution. The Constitution doesn't limit gun ownership to people the govt thinks are mentally stable.

Also, in the animal kingdom, no species fights or kills it's own kind. Just human Americans do that.

Its also getting to the point for me of "How many guns are enough"?. Its estimated that there are close to 300 million guns in the US with about 5 million new firearms made every year. Serious question....How many is too many?

You're dumb and throwing out numbers like this is a dumb argument.

Point #1. And the only one that matters is the constitution says I can own as many guns as I wish

but just to add a few more points

2. Different guns do different things. Different guns for different game, some guns are for just shooting for fun, Some guns are for competitive shooting, self defense, etc.

3. Guns are like anything else in that there is new technology in the marketplace from time to time so you need to purchase new guns to get the latest and greatest.

4. Guns break, some rust, get lost, get stolen, etc so when that happens you need to replace that gun if it can't be found or repaired.

5. I have some black powder guns I used to deer hunt with but LA changed the law on that and made them pretty much useless and not worth much. That law change also made me buy a new gun to "black powder" hunt with.

6. Some guns are collector items.

That's off the top of my head. I could go on and on about why there are so many guns but again the first point I listed is all that matters.

I'm a gun owner. I've got several guns that are the type that a gun control advocate would say "there's no reason for a person to own that". I can't imagine living in a place that I don't have the freedom to own a gun.

But I'm not blind to the fact that there are some issues. I think the issue is with our society, but the fact that the degenerates of our society are turning to guns is troubling. I don't have an answer and am completely against registering fire arms and/or banning guns. But I think there has to be something we can do to stop some of this senseless death.

First and foremost, I think there needs to be MUCH stricter penalties for committing a crime with a firearm. You rob someone at gunpoint, you don't get out of jail. You murder someone with a gun, you get put in the ground. No more armed robbers walking the streets in a matter of months. We treat guns like they are the problem, but we completely ignore the other obvious societal issues that contribute just as much or more to a majority of these violent crimes.

Mass shooting are a different animal. Those people are crazy. Do guns make it easier, possibly. But we've seen that two guys can kill and injure plenty of people with a pressure cooker. We can't outlaw everything.

SURE WE CAN!!!

If you outlaw pressure cookers, only outlaws will have pressure cookers...

Or, y'know, they'll just find a substitute...because it's not the method used that is dangerous, it's the will to do it.

What if this happened with a knife? Would they want us all to eat steaks with a sharpened spoon?

Someone needs to sit them down and let them know they are misguided instead of just soaking up every bit of airtime they get and stirring the pot

I know they are dealing with a terrible tragedy but that is just stupid.

What if the guy had walked up and stabbed them both? Would it be the knife's fault? Should we ban knives at that point?
