So there's a spot near my house that I think would make a perfect slackline water crossing. I got a slackline last Christmas, but I haven't practiced enough to be competent. It's harder than you'd think. Anyway, yesterday I took the first step, I know, toward making my water crossing goal a reality.

I built a slackrack for indoor practicing. As soon as I finished I went over to the spot to document my goal...you know just so it would be clear in my head what I have to accomplish. In that it became a bit murkier since the anchor alignment wasn't what I thought it was. Here's the spot.

I wanted, still might, just to use the last two piling bundles to set it up and cross. They aren't even close to being parallel with the coast though.

The three piling bundle over to the last one on the other side may be the best, though not as visually appealing I don't think. For now, the goal is last bundle to last bundle.

The slackrack...Built up this bad boy yesterday.

Now it's just practice, practice, practice. Probably set up a few long crossings to mimic the water one once I get the hang of it. The goal is to complete the crossing "on-site". So be ontop one bundle, climb down onto the slackline, cross the water gap and climb up onto the top of the other bundle...first try. This summer some time. I can't even make it across the rack at the moment.

I think a $10 bet that I won't make it would pay out $10.50 as it stands.

Pics don't work for you either?

ETA: It's like a tight rope expect it's not a wire it's a strip of webbing that you walk across. I built an indoor stand for it so I can practice everyday.

There's the chapel where I served Mass as a kid. Underneath, the library.

Hippy straps
The big rage starting several years ago on Colorado. Hippies stringing those things all over the place. Almost as fun as an Indie board.....

I'm familiar with slacklining because my sister's weird friends do it, but I just don't get the appeal at all.

I know it is difficult. But the community is really amped for it, as in, walk 8 feet 4 feet off the ground and "BOOM YOU frickING KILLED IT DUDE."

I bet there is huge overlap in the slackline and disc golf communities.

That slack line shite is weird. When I was in Colorado we were hanging out with some phish loving hipster that was doing it between some trees. What's the point of it? Is it some type of exercise?

Different strokes for different folks. I enjoy hanging out on a back porch with a group of friends and a slack line pulled between two trees.

No, I must not familiar with what you're talking about. The big church is what I was speaking of.

How do you keep the flat edge in the horizontal plane when you wrap it around the piling bundles? It seems like the flat edge would be vertical, judging from the pic of your rack.

Actually I was serious.
I use a homemade indie to keep my big arse in tune for snowboarding.

Yea, you think my goal is legit? I have zero control at the moment, but it'll come. I have the long Indo board and I can kill that thing. This is much tougher for me for some reason.

Oh. OLL
The building far left has the Brother's chapel upstairs.
I got confirmed at Our Lady of the Lake.

We used to fish off the pier after school too. I caught a lot of flounder right there.
