What method has worked for you to remove water spots and or soap scum buildup on glass shower doors. So far I have tried with zero results, bar keepers friend (which is a mildly acid cleaner), vinegar, lemon, clr, windex.

When I had a glass shower I had a spray that you could leave in the shower and spray while showering and it would dry spotless.

I forget the name of it but I think it's made by 409

Now, now... you know your little swimmers would appreciate you finding a different name for them.

I squeegee mine off after each shower. It's worked out well.

I have bad etching on my shower door. I started using OO steel wool with a little water. It cleared up the glass but it was a lot of work. After cleaning it you should probably put Rain X on it.

I've used CLR with good results...but you better be ready for the fumes. That stuff is bad.

Also...once you get it cleaned...use a squeegee after every shower (or at least the last one of the night) on the doors...that has helped tremendously.

Monkey butt, I wish I had that type of range and pattern..

Redbeer, that's the plan but I first need to get this crap off! After removal I plan to use rain x shower and squeegee after each use.

Dish soap, Borax, and warm water. Mix it all together and scrub it.

Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda in a container and pour in white distilled vinegar until it forms a paste with the baking soda. Put the paste on the shower door and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse the shower door with warm water. Hard water stains should be gone. Some rainX on the shower door glass will reduce water stains.

Spray the door/glass with Pam or any other cooking spray. Let sit for 5 mins. wipe off with warm soapy water. Works like a charm.

If it's truly etched none of the above will work. Try cerium oxide.

Take wash cloth...pour pile of Kosher Salt on wash cloth and wrap cloth around Kosher Salt making a ball.

Make bowl of 2 parts mouth wash(must contain Fluoride) and 1 part lemon juice.

Soak balled up wash cloth with Kosher Salt in Mouth Wash/Lemon mixture and then wipe door down. Soap Scum comes right off.

If the issue is soap scum, any bathroom cleaner will work fine...

If the issue is hard water scale or lime, CLR will remove it (but may asphixiate you in the process)....

If the glass is etched, like mine was, there is nothing to do but replace it.

I tried numerous over the counter and homemade concoctions. Here is my advice.

1 - Get a new door.

2 - Apply Rain X on new door (and reapply every 4-6 months).

3 - Squeegee after each use.
