I have a decent sized one on my forearm that formed about a week ago. My GF says I should leave it alone but I want to pop it. What should I do? Im not sure if you are not supposed to pop them or not.

Eh, depends on how big. I would say no just because there is a chance of infection. If you do, post to r/popping and reap the sweet karma.

I just hate looking at the fricking thing. I want it gone but I also dont want to deal with the nagging that its gonna get infected.

Could it also be in ingrown hair?

Most cysts need to be lanced. Unless yours looks like a zit, I don't think there will be any popping it. Also, typically cysts are slow growing. If it popped up inside of a week, chances are it isn't a cyst

Watch some youtube videos about it and then decide. Since it's on your arm, I would probably pop it. I mean you can keep an eye on it after you pop it and make sure it doesn't get infected. It's not like it's out of view on your back or something.

Pop the frick out of it and put some OTC antibiotic ointment on it. Problem solved.

This. There is a "sac" inside typically that needs to be removed. It' won't go away if you simply try to "pop" it.

No.
If it's a cyst. Pop it and it will come back. Usually, the actual sac around the cyst must be removed as well.
Better to have it removed........
Honestly you just risk infection if you do it on your own and don't know what you're doing.

Would not reccomend

Typically requires a scalpel and stiches, depending on how big it is.

Stabbing yourself in the arm is the only solution. If you bleed to death, you did it right.
