And as a former smoker I can remember the simple joy in the life of a smoker that was lounging on the beach in the sun smoking a cigarette with not a care in the world. As long as you aren't just leaving all your cigarette butts in the sand I don't care if you smoke on the beach.

1) You're missing my point in that you've got to be trash to go to Panama City Beach in the first place if you are not in college.
2) Did the smokers in Destin just come up to you and blow smoke in your face? Was everyone just crowding around one another as if it were Woodstock?
How does a guy smoking 20 or more feet away from you affect you? If I'm going to the beach, I like having a beer and a cigar. It's what I do. The wind disperses it so quickly that you're not going to inhale it if you're more than 10 feet away from me.
This is no different than telling someone to put down a beer because it goes against your moral principles. As long as they throw the butts and the cans away, who gives a shite? The smoke on a beach is not going to bother you if you're not a judgemental prick.

You're not smelling the cig in a 15 foot range. I'm not inconsiderate, I'm simply not a pussy who can take a slight wiff of smoke comes my way once an hour. The beach immediately vaporizes the smoke within 10 feet.

Yeah, the guy who goes and vacations at Panama City Beach is calling me trashy.
And sorry, but 99% of people don't give a flying frick if you smoke on the beach, provided you don't throw the butts into the sand. If I had to pick the most ideal place in the world to smoke, the beach would be on top of the list (although golf course is a close second). You're the jackass being the inconsiderate douchebag by trying to keep this simple joy from people on the beach. Some people only get one vacation a year, and smoking can make that more enjoyable for them. If you don't like it, move down the beach.
And for the record, when I light up a stogie, I'm considerate enough to either sit down wind from my company or stand up. But smoking a cigar on the beach is awesome and highly relaxing, and eff off if you want to damper my vacation with retarded regulations.
