only thing I cant figure out is how to turn off voice notifications for vehicles on the side of the road. I dont want to hear that shite.

Settings --> Display Settings --> Show on Map --> Hazards

I have done that already. it doesnt display it on the map but it still annunciates it.

my V1 has been annoying the hell out me lately. Every time I get around a new high end luxury vehicle or certain 18 wheeler's will set it off.

The most common are Audi's and new GMC Delani's

they just released a firmware upgrade for this issue. I havent sent mine in yet, but one of my friends has and he said it eliminates false alarms of this type. his was old and the cost to upgrade was $200, mine would be $100.

The audio running in the background was only good with the android app unless you had the iOS app opened at the time (previous to iOS8).

iOS8 allows 3rd party app integration so you can hear the audio alerts while the phone is locked or on another screen.

how's that working out for you with wrecks and shite in the road?

my arse was saved one time by waze when i got an alert 'watch out debris in road' and there was a huge tire chunk in my lane about 1/3 mile ahead that i wouldn't have caught until right on it.

another time, frickign NES dug a trench across broadway without a sign and it said 'watch out pothole' on a road i take every single day and if i hadn't braked i would have bottomed out.

not an apple man. always had android. i remember using it once and it didnt work. the audio alerts that is. and i never went back to it.

but its quite possible there was something off in the settings. i hate the layout of it. if it had the google maps on top of its audio capabilities it would be the best of both worlds.

I'm talking about you being unable to detect hazards in the road without an app telling you

The frick is this bullshite?

All it is is an extension of me calling my buddy and telling him where the cops are and him calling his buddy and so on. You gonna outlaw that?

They should outlaw license plates while they are at it, I don't want serial killers tracking me down and murdering me.

It really is the best GPS app around... in fact, it's one of the best apps I've ever downloaded. When you put in a destination and it takes you a way you don't know or wouldn't think to take, just trust it.

was driving from B'ham to Pensacola one time and Waze told me to get off the interstate like 80 miles early. I just gave it the old wtf look and ignored it. 2 minutes later I got stuck in traffic for the better part of an hour.

learned my lesson...just trust Waze, it knows better

tire was on the interstate just after i came over a hill at 3am heading back to nashville from la.

trench/pothole was bumper-to-bumper traffic on broadway and everyone else hit it full speed.

Works pretty well since I have driven on most back roads in Louisiana and Mississippi and know my way around. As for the obstacles, I just look at the road and drive around them

No need for Waze...if they really wanted to be a cop killer they would just roll up to a Krispy Kreme.
