only thing I cant figure out is how to turn off voice notifications for vehicles on the side of the road. I dont want to hear that shite.
Settings --> Display Settings --> Show on Map --> Hazards

I know that this is the OT where everyone lies, but had I not have had to reset my waze account twice now and on my third new account, I'd have a combined point total of over 500,000. I don't know what my rank would be, but I'm pretty sure it would be high.

my V1 has been annoying the hell out me lately. Every time I get around a new high end luxury vehicle or certain 18 wheeler's will set it off.
The most common are Audi's and new GMC Delani's

You can let it run in the background and it will alert you when cops are coming over the speakers
Ill look into it again. I havent used it in a long time but i never saw where there was actual audio alerts. That of course does make it a lot more helpful.
My Iphone wont do it in my Ford from some reason

Go to waze.com on a PC and log in using your account. After that you can change phones with no problem.

No, never have

what do you get points for and how can you use them? I drive 90 miles a day but rarely see a cop so i wouldn't have much to report.

I've never heard of this App until I read it here. I just found it in the Play Store and when you install it the thing wants access to my Calendar, Contacts, my photos and media files???
What the Frack?!? I can understand needing to track my GPS but why would it need to know who is in my contacts or what's on my darned calendar? Since I keep my Data and GPS turned off and rely mostly on Wi-Fi hotspots to connect to the interwebz I wouldn't get the updates anyway. Guess I'll just have to drive the speed limit and keep an eye on the traffic in front of me.

That app doesn't even track the cops does it? It just shows you their last location as reported by someone driving, right?
Correct, it's completely user-driven (no pun intended). It's no different than when CB's were wildly popular and people constantly reported the location of law enforcement.

Report gas prices, take pics of places and add info about places you stop at, edit the map when needed at home. You can't actually spend the points. We both wish you could though.

bullshite. It's not about their safety, it's about fricking up their revenue stream.
This!
If they are really concerned about not being found so easy, they should get rid of those idiotic, obnoxious, blinding strobe lights mount all over their "units".
And I don't want to hear anything about "its for their safety"....I understand SOME lights but what most have these days is just plain stupid.

You don't have to give it that access.
Contacts - can just put in contacts name instead of having to type out address
Calendar - pulls address for meetings

I used the HELL out of Waze when I lived in DC... In fact, I would feel panicked if I didn't have it on when I was driving. There was A LOT more usage/users up there.. I can drive all the way to BR from NOLA and see like 2-3 other users.
Needless to say, the reporting of potholes is useless here and you'd have a million alerts.

If it's as simple as that, I'm going to bang my head against a wall. I've lost so many points having to recreate new accounts and the waze forums offered no solution when I posted it.

google paid a lot for that app and it's pretty much the only useful feature..
Not true at all.

Just downloaded the app
I've had experiences where I thought I knew better and boy was I wrong.
I don't ever NOT trust waze.

Do you enter your cell number into the waze app? When I upgraded my phone last time I reentered my number and my profile popped up just as it was from the last phone.

Seems like a stray dog would allow the would be cop killer to find a cop sooner than waze.

That's exactly what I did both times I got a new phone. I get some page that pops up saying sorry bucko, your information is lost in the stratosphere.
