Do you think that was a possibility? Was it super busy when you requested?

Would love to see the correspondence between you and uber as well as between he and uber. Playing devil's advocate, I feel like I know what happened...it was probably so busy after the game with a lot cell clutter in one place, the request to end the ride probably didn't go through. Remember this whole service is based around cell reception.

I might could buy that if he hadn't cussed us and wasn't a fat hog loving frick. Uber said we entered that destination which is horseshite

Call the credit card company and dispute the charge.

This, even if you are in the wrong, most business won't even bother disputing a dispute.

True but enforcement is very different between institutions and transaction types.

This is why I use AMEX with Uber. I just dispute the issue with them.

Probably smart, just keep that as the hiding nuke that you may have to drop upon Uber

Wrong again, governed by the visa or Mastercard on the card itself, not the institution issuing it. It carries the same protection as credit cards minus the first 50 dollars spent.

That was my portion of the total fee.

So you went to the trouble of splitting up what should have been about a $6 ride in the app? Huh. You guys not travel with more than $2 in cash?

So you know how uber works? Splitting fairs is the easiest thing possible

Just seems odd to try and split up that short of a ride, even if it is easy, but I digress.

The fare was estimated at $22 due to the surge. Also you can't pay an Uber by cash so that is irrelevant. You share the fee with your buddies, they click one button, accept it and that's it.

You sure as hell do not have the same protection with a debit vs a credit. They as vastly different in protection levels.

You really have no clue what you are talking about.

FCBA dictates credit card transactions while EFTA dictates debit cards transactions. They are very different.

I've used uber only a handful of times but I don't understand how you can get out and the driver goes another 60 miles and charges you. Unless you put in another destination and agree to the charge wouldn't there be nothing proving you wanted to go 60 miles away?

I ask this more so I never get in this situation than questioning the validity of the charge.

Doesn't seem like we are getting the full story here. You put in your destination before you even get in an Uber car. How can they legitimately try to charge you for a different destination?
