non denomination Christian church?
I've seen more sleeze balls at non denomination churches than a used car salesman convention in Vegas.

it would appear you're throwing all baptists into the same boat

or you don't know what you're talking about

Friend of mine married a Hindu girl. Her parents did their best to break up their marriage. It took them three years, but they succeeded.

I did get tired of them singing the sang songs for 45 mins every Sunday.

45 min should be the amount of time between parking your car before service and pulling back out the parking lot after the service is over to grab a 12 pack and catch the noon kickoff

Not all of them are the same though. You must be thinking of the megachurch variety. Pastors that are wealthy off the church.

Mine preaches straight from the Bible. Pastor is a very humble man who isn't wealthy and doesn't wear flashy clothes or try to guilt people out of money. Church has a group of elders that help to govern church. Church members vote on any major changes to church (ex:how church money is spent, etc). Church very active in serving local community and internationally.

We attended a Baptist church for years after we were first married.

not being religious is pretty cool because you don't have to go to Church. That's at least a few hours of free time, or less feelings of guilt, that you get each week.

Yeah that's the ones i'm thinking of. The sleeze ball youth pastors in their 40's with the trash goatee and dressing like a teenager...

It saddens me that so many relationships are ruined over stories parents tell us as children.

Well that's very unfortunate, I feel sorry for the kids. Kids don't have the choice as adults do, fortunately kids like playing make believe.

my wife was "buddhist" when we got together back in the day.... i was born and raised baptist, so of course there was hard core pressure from my family to convert her.... which i did...

now, i'm more agnostic, and very skeptical, but at least my sundays are free....

Why not expose your children to all the major belief systems and let them decide for themselves?

After all, if what you believe is the truth and so clearly evident they should arrive at the right answer themselves if given the information.

My SO is agnostic while I'm religious. Compromise is a huge thing but I do worry sometimes what will happen if we have kids.

On a day to day basis, I think about religion zero times. Thus, I have no problems and won't have any when raising a family. I can't even fathom letting something as insignificant as religion affect the way I raise my family.....THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN ANYONES LIFE.

Sarcasm or ignorance? Which is it?

So you think you have life and true wisdom all figured out eh?

When does your book come out?

I wish I could have talked to my grandparents more about how they made it work for them.
