while doing bench and bouncing the bar. It's surreal.

If you are bouncing the bar off your chest on bench, you are not a powerlifter. You may call yourself that but they will laugh you out of a meet trying that shite (or only bending your knees with 50-11 plates on the bar doing squats).

I don't really understand those guys either. There are a couple at my gym...one is this 40ish year old foreign dude who weighs probably 300...comes in a benches 315+ a couple of times, barely any ROM bc his arms are short and his belly is huge then he chats with some people and goes home. Weird and pointless IMO.

But...that being said, I'd much rather be in a gym full of those guys vs. a gym full of Zyzz wannabe's talking about their "gainzzz" and how drunk they got the night before at the club and then grunting/screaming on their sets. Those guys are the worst.

It's kinda comical seeing these so called "power lifters" actually try to complete legit meet quality lifts. Take bench for example where you have to unrack, lower bar in a controled motion down to chest, pause until greenlighted, lift to a completed finish, then re-rack. Very humbling to the bounce it off the chest guy.

typically they are the ones walking around the gym, with their flatbilled hats, bragging about they can deadlift 600lbs x 50 reps and everyone else is thinking "no one cares Jeff, pls go"

I may be in the minority, put if I see someone that can deadlift 600lbs 50 times...I am fricking impressed.

I would also not criticize said person either, they could probably crush you.

AS to the topic, some people see the gym as a social environment. Instead of being a dick and complaining why dont you offer to work out with them and improve their fitness level. Obviously, you must be in excellent condition.

This is why I am glad I train in my home gym with a few other guys on my team. I have up on commercial gyms many years ago and hope to never go back. I probably train 2 or 3 times per year in a commercial gym when I am traveling or on vacation and it makes me sick every time.

douchebags get treated like douchebags. Im surprised no one has told you this yet, considering this is why you are treated the way you are.

This is funny considering you are generally an a-hole in these types of threads. I respect your knowledge but your delivery can be a bit shall we say abrasive.
