Washing machines, dryers, fridge, oven and dishwashers...Which brands are the least serviced and most reliable on the market? If you could sell one brand, which would it be?

Probably could search it but I believe Napolean said Speed Queen is the way to go with Washers.

Samsung is severely overrated and overpriced. I have put Kenmore in a lot of houses I have flipped and built and it still seems to be the best reasonably priced option with quality.

I agree, but the problem comes when you have to deal with Sears.

I bought a Speed Queen washer about a month ago based on Napoleon's recommendation. The wife loves it. She would buy it again.

Your wife isn't gonna like this, but generally the cheaper and less fancy the appliance, the longer it's gonna last

Consumer Reports rates the reliability of major appliances based on their annual survey of 115,000 users. It's pretty spot on. Either subscribe to the on-line magazine or check a copy at your library.

BTW, Speed Queen is the highest rated top-loading washer by a pretty wide margin.

yeah, nope.

find yourself a $75 1980s mechanical W&D set and you'll likely never spend more than a couple hundred dollars in the next 30 years.

or you can buy a brand new LG/Samsung/GE/Maytag whatever, spend $1300 on the set, another $500 on pedestals and pay Napoleon $500 every time he comes out and replaces your circuit board.

Avoid Samsung unless you are buying a phone.

Love my Samsung Washer, Dryer, and fridge. Only product from Samsung that has been subpar so far is a dishwasher. It died in 2 months, but they are currently replacing it for me. If it dies again, I will buy GE or Whirlpool.

I have Whirlpool Range, Oven, and microwave. No issues so far.

I think that's Speed Queen's secret. They've stuck with the basic mechanical design and left the fancy electronics to the others.

Yep, We have a basic GE washer and dryer set... Need it to wash and dry clothes, that's it... and it works..

Had an old Speed Queen stackable full size from the mid 80's in my old house... Sold the house to a friend, he said it just died... after 30 years...

I was told to stay away from Samsung Washer, dryers, and fridges...

How old? Started having trouble with mine after 4 years. My old Maytag lasted at least 17 years. Wish I would have just had it repaired when it broke instead of buying that POS Samsung. fricker will go off balance and gives an error code all the time now. Unless you only had a very small load. They suck

thats exactly right. but you dont need to spend $800 apiece to get something with the speed queen name when there are literally THOUSANDS of WD sets on craigslist that will outlive you.

I find it funny that my old house had a water heater that was 40 years old and was still working, and my new house needed a new one after 7 years.

My appliances now are all very basic, and they haven't broken yet. When they do, I'll just buy another cheap one because they seem to last the longest

dude, for less than the cost of the SERVICE CALL you can pick up a 30yo maytag set that will never cause you a bit of trouble.

i picked up an almond set with a turquoise agitator and zinc lined tub circa 1986 and aside from a few scratches, you'd never know this thing was that old.

entire amount of trouble so far was $19 for a new electrical element for the dryer (i broke it during the move) and i bought a $20 pump for the washer which i ended up not needing because the one that was on there just had something stuck in it.

put the pump in the cabinet as a spare if/when i need it and we've run some fricking loads through these things (4 kids) and they are flawless....FLAWLESS performers.

this is one of craigslist best kept secrets.

its a W&D. WHO THE frick CARES IF IT HAS BLUE LEDS?? you just need it to wash & dry your shite.

Kenmore hasn't made appliances since 1979, anything Kenmore is made by someone else. Usually whirlpool, sometimes Frigidaire.
