How come Asians have such difficulty pronouncing L's, yet their R's come out like L's.
Is it all just an act to get in our heads?

So they are legally indemnified when you find lice in your takeout.

I don't know, but it's not like the L sound doesn't exist in that language. "Lo mein," for example.
Remember how black people in the south used to say skrawberry and skreet?

Different evolution of vocal cords?
I will hopefully get to give a talk in Beijing this September at a conference and I'm debating talking like that for the whole talk. Ah herro prease my name is ... and I'm from Rouisana State University.

Well like stated above, they have L's in their vocabulary. They can make both the L and R sounds but they just switch them. Like if you switched out L's and R's they speak perfect English

They have Ls, but they're different than how we use them.
It's similar to rolled Rs in Spanish.

When the hell do black people say credik and debik when their is clearly a T at te end.
Also, why the hell do black folks was things like 'looked-ed' and 'worked-ed' instead of worked and looked?

When did they stop?
And why does everyone from Nola say axe instead of ask? Rich or poor, black or white, everyone says axe.

It makes me want to hear a Chinese guy say Roll Tide.

I just assumed they don't anymore, because that is fuxking absurd if they do. It's 2016. (I don't spend time with blacks anymore.)

It's still very common, and has nothing to do with face or socio-economic status. People just say axe. I found it to be pretty funny.

quote:The Chinese language has plenty of R's and L's. Ask anyone from Linyi (population 10,000,000) or Rugao (population 1,000,000). You'd be hard pressed to ever hear a Chinese person mix up these sounds.

On the other hand, Japanese has no English L sound, only rolled R's, so you're much likely to hear a rolled R if a Japanese person is saying an English L.
