and causing confusing traffic procedures to take place?

Wish i had videos of how many times people seem completely confused as to what to do when an emergency vehicle is behind them.

Maybe in case the idiot in their lane has their head up their arse and doesn't see them coming they can pass the vehicle safely if the cars in the opposite direction have yielded

In Oregon it is and it's stupid. Washington doesn't have it.

It's a safety hazard imo. I won't do it if there aren't any turnoffs in front of me or if I'm on the highway.

You are one of those people that any little extra bit of help is such an inconvenience to you.. lol.. this upsets you?

Why it may not be necessary, it just makes it all the easier for them to reach their destination as quickly and safely as possible..

it is simply courtesy.

Why the frick do people do this? Is that the law? I only pull over when there's an emergency vehicle behind me in MY lane. If it's in the opposite lane in opposing traffic, I'm not in the way and therefore continue going about my day while not slowing down traffic behind me.

If you're one of those people who pull over for an emergency vehicle in the opposite lane, frick you. I hate that shite.

If you're on a two lane you should cause most of the time on those roads there's no room for cars to pull completely to the right.

Where do you live? I haven't seen one on a truck in forever. I was on a truck from the 70s 4 years ago that had one... it didn't work though. Come to think of it I haven't seen a traffic light with a receiver on it in Louisiana.

How does pulling over for an oncoming ambulance in the opposite flow of traffic when it's already not blocked going to help it get to it's destination any faster?

It's stupid.

And you are one of those people who feels entitled to be helped by others at all times. The simple fact is we were not put on this earth to waste our lives away helping people. Help is accepted by the weak and offered by the weaker.

frick ambulances.

I've seen it at multiple intersections. All the lights turn red while the emergency vehicle comes through. I didn't chart the intersections.

My reasoning is I don't know where they're going so I'd rather not chance getting in the way.

But surely it's not gonna turn in front of you while it's going 60mph.

Oh, I agree. I just do it. In my defense, I see other people do it, so I'm not alone.

Yea, that's what I'm talking about. Why do people do it? I really just don't see the point. Don't get me wrong, I always pullover when one is behind me. On the other side of the road though? No.

Pull over as far right as possible for any sirens in either direction unless they are across a true median.

Yeah, I don't do it if there is a large median.

However, I will do it if we are both approaching the same intersection.

It really depends on the situation. 4 lane or more highway and not approaching an intersection at the same time, hell no. There is no logical reason to.

Approaching an intersection at a similar time, slow down to make sure you can yield if ambulance wants to turn left.

Two lane road, pull over and give them room.

What an inconsiderate prick.

I swerve over to the shoulder as fast as possible the second I hear a siren or see a flashing light. Courtesy, bitches.

This isn't near as bad as people that pull over for funeral caravans in the opposite lane. People die everyday. I got places to be.

FWIW, unless there's a median and no nearby intersection...I pull over for emergency vehicles in the opposite lane.
