1. I have to assume most cops don't carry around rubber bullets
2. Some tasers you have to be pretty damn close to get a use out of it
3. Why should an innocent police officer have to risk being stabbed because a psychopath is threatening cops with a knife and begging them to shoot him.
The left and its arguments never cease to amaze. Completely irrational and always looking to blame someone other than the person who is clearly at fault in the situation.

Yes because rubber bullets and tasers spontaneously don't work when people are carrying knives as opposed to guns?
You could use non-lethal force on a knife wielding suspect but that norepinephrine cause someone to do crazy things.

I agree if a cop is in hand to hand combat with a person carrying a knife could be justified using a gun. But there are ways around shooting someone with a knife

You've already lost if youre in hand to hand combat and your weapon isn't drawn. That's essentially a coin flip. The odds are even worse when your opponent has a lethal weapon already engaged.
