I know that I will be in the minority here, but it didn't appear that he was an immediate threat to anyone, so did they really need to fire then? He had a knife not a gun and I didn't see any sudden sudden movements from the guy. He was just walking around slowly and he was being watched from all sides by officers at that point.
It's a given that he should have complied from the beginning, but the situation was under control for the most part. I'm not sure where he got hit, but if someone felt a shot needed to be taken then, couldn't it have been some sort of incapacitating shot like a leg shot instead of a kill shot? And before anyone says if you pull a gun you shoot to kill, I agree in almost all situations, but this guy was surrounded by post certified officers with guns and all he had was a knife. He would have gone down with a non fatal shot and if instead he reacted violently, there were multiple officers around him who could deliver that kill shot.

And tech has always had a high suicide rate
Some guy shot himself in the head in front of the student center when I was in school because he only had a 3.8 in ee
Hint - use something bigger than a 22

It committed suicide. It knew exactly what it was doing.
Does anyone else notice that the reporting in these incidents always seems to suggest that the police had other options?
Why would the media do something like that?

There was some mental or emotional trauma happening there.

It's obvious in the video that the guy/girl/multipurpose/person was trying to get killed by the police.
"He" was walking towards different officers in a threatening manner to try and find one that was nervous enough to shoot.
"His" only miscalculation is that he will never go down as a martyr because he is a genetic white male. No one is going to advocate for that cause no matter how much you white knight yourself.

Watched it again.
You are a fricking moron. A human life was taken-whether correct or not is not something to jump for joy over. You should hope you don't have a mentally ill kid that gets into a situation like this. Dumbass.

While tragic, apparently this kid's parents enabled the mental illness and told him "they" was normal. Had they sought professional help instead, this situation likely would not have happened.
