Pretty sure they don't have adequate insurance.

Bumping so folks will see and keep them in their prayers

Business was on their land right down the road from their home so I'm 99% sure all they had was homeowners insurance and not business insurance.

F man. That's horrible. Contact all the local news groups and see if they'll cover it (if they haven't already). Then use those links and start marketing around the community trying to raise money to help them. Hopefully something good will come of it all.

Well there's a reason people call the area CenLa.

I'm thinking geography wasn't the debate here.

Any reason as to why they're underinsured? I hope the best for them.

Business liability insurance is probably one of the better deals in the Insurance industry.

idk why I put north LA tbh.

didn't have my coffee yet I guess.

anyways, to make things worse, I'm a commercial insurance broker. I'm in Nashville and work on large business though and just always assumed my grandfather's agent had them on a business owners policy (BOP) which would cover the vast majority of their needs. Looks like they just have a homeowners policy though and I'm fairly certain their shop won't be listed, as it was down the road about .5 mile or slightly less.

This was a woodworking shop. He and uncle made furniture and whatnot. As you can imagine, it didn't take long to burn down.

So was it on their contiguous property?

Might have a shot if it was.
