I would think billions of plastic bottles, bags, and things like K cups are a thousand times worse for mother earth than cigarette butts.

Not as big a deal as you make it out to be. But if you are going to throw them out, make sure your kids' windows are up in the backseat. Those things will fly right back in the car and burn the shite out of someone back there.
