Good.

Uh, what?

He originally pulled her over for a brake light being burned out. He should have said, "Your brake light is burned out, get it fixed. Have a nice day."

She shouldn't have been an a-hole to him and it likely goes somewhat like that. Since she was too cool to roll her window down, it escalated.

She was a single mom, part time student, and part time worker.

Cry me a river.

Was the need to write a little ticky tack ticket so strong in him that he had to escalate it to bitch and dick levels?

She escalated it. Clearly you didn't watch the same video as me.

do you tell your boss no when she asks you to do an important task?

technically you don't have to, but just wait for the wrath to come for not doing it

I've had my rights violated numerous times growing up, yet somehow I'm still alive to talk about it. Everything is about weighing risk vs. reward. When dealing with cops the risk of pissing off the cop far outweighs the reward of "exercising your rights".

It sucks but that's the way it is.

Well this is probably why they are getting murdered left and right lately

While she was a bitch, He was complicit in escalating a situation that should not have even been a situation.
Pulling people over for inconsequential minutiae, allowing the LEO to go fishing for more, should be illegal.

This was a situation that should have never escalated beyond, "Hey girl, get the light fixed, see you."

Also, I only said she was a single mom, working her way through school for informational purposes. Your saying cry me a river showed your lack of ability to understand a simple sentence and elevated you to dick status at the same time. Congrats on the double.

You are correct in believing she was complicit in escalating it. There should have been no "it" to escalate though.

He was a dick, making you and him kindred spirits. Enjoy your bond.

I don't agree. Having broken taillights is dangerous.

It's irrelevant.

It's an irrelevant sentence. Who she is and what she does has no bearing and her stupidity that day.

And you're stupid and make terrible arguments, so you might actually be her.

I have a friend that is a black female and said she is scared to roll down the window for a white cop. While this is a feeling that I don't share, I've been pulled over by both black and white police officers and have fully complied every time, I can't dismiss it.

Wasn't a cop found guilty of sexually assaulting and raping black women last year? I have also seen videos of people not complying with police and not rolling their windows down and nothing happens to them. I'm not saying she was right in this situation but just saying I can see the other side of this.

I bet someone in your profession did the same thing last year too.

Did they also not follow any of the commands after the fact and roll their window all the way back up and get asked to step out of the car? I'm guessing no.

This woman may be well within her rights, and may well have her day in court to address her grievances, but now she has a smashed window and had to waste time dealing with it.

The alternative? Roll down her window and avoid all of that nonsense.

What a civilian can do to avoid a bad situation with an officer is a valid conversation, but it shouldn't be used to excuse shoddy police work at the same time.

What was shoddy? She needed to get out the car. She was non compliant at that point. He was calm until she tried rolling the window back up on his fingers. The lengths some of yall will go to always criticize cops is comical.

Well sport, no one in my profession can just pull someone over and give them orders.

I can't recall if the officer told them to leave the car but I know he told the officer he wouldn't answer any questions and wouldn't roll the window down.

And that makes the rape any better? You're making it sound like just because one cop did something they are all capable of it. That's a pretty broad brush to paint with.

The officer was completely in the right. He was professional and acted with restraint. Nothing wrong with his actions.

I haven't watched the video so I'm not specifically talking about the case in the OP. I'm just addressing comments like your first one in the thread about why some people have to be such a dick to officers sometimes. Most of us aren't going to raise any hell because we know how quickly we can put ourselves in a bad situation with police officers, but being rude doesn't necessarily excuse every action of the LEOs after that point.

You have to be careful excusing every single situation by saying "well, if he/she would have just complied nothing bad would have happened." That non-compliance can still be handled very poorly, and sometimes illegally, by LEOs.

A black or Hispanic or asian cop could assault her just as easily.

It was not tail lights. it was one burned out brake light. Nice escalation though.

Correct. Once again, it was for informational purposes. Kind of like trivia.

Which makes it irrelevant.

She should have said "I've been raped before by a man posing to be a cop and I don't want it to happen again. He took my mouth arse and count after I trusted that he was law enforcement because he had a uniform on. I didn't want to get wet for him but my body reacted even though I was saying no....

She should just keep taking about rape and sex constantly for hours upon hours not letting the officer get in a word edgewise. If he broke the window with her talking about rape by a man posing as an officer it wouldn't have been good
