From what I am hearing on our neighborhood board he was straight up executed. Shot in the head and in the back.

Damn. This is really starting to suck.

I've been a Probation and Parole Officer since 1989 and I've never seen violence like what we're experiencing right now.

Thanks Obama.

Peoples rims are getting jacked like crazy out here. Plenty of bad areas in cypress. At least Fairfield is pretty immune. Much of cypress might as well be downtown with how trashy it is. There's something like 8 or 9 high schools. We refused to move into any area zoned to all but three of them.

EDIT: I see that the article has been updated. Tragic and I'm so sorry to see this. Cop's family and friends have my prayers.

Not sure why you quoted what you did to say what you did.

Anyway, terrible to hear. Society really does seem to be at an all time low

I have no issue with criticizing LEOs, but the lack of respect and hostility towards them is ridiculous. They are being forced into a corner and I don't think the citizenry will enjoy their push back.

I've had a lot of people tell me to look into the cypress area when moving to Houston. It didn't overwhelm me, but surely didn't look like a crime riddled place or anything. It's terrible to hear about this.

Fairfield
Black horse
Towne lake

That's where you need to live. Everywhere else is pretty bad.

News now saying he was ambushed as I was hearing an hour ago. Clearly some thug wanting to kill a cop. He was sitting in his cruiser while filling up with gas.

I live in Fairfield. We deal with people rummaging through cars and steeling rims.

The thing I have realized with LE is that they are like any other profession. There are people who are good at their jobs and there are people who suck. The need for any proefession to constantly improve on itself is absolutely necessary. That requires valid criticism and open discussion. But the hostility and hate I see with some people is disgusting and definitly counter-productive.

Bridge land is good too. Always forget about that one since it's right next to BH.

I have a strange feeling this will turn out to be a domestic issue.

Prayers for the officers family.

Over 1 dozen shell casing on scene. Person knew who he wanted to kill and made sure he was killed. Feels weird something like this happened so close to me. I live in Jersey Village. I guess there is no safe area in Houston anymore.

If this was the case then you're probably safe.
