People that carry pocket knives: what do you use it for and how often do you use it? I've never carried one and never came across an occasion where I needed one.

what do you do for a living? What are your hobbies/daily activities? I use mine at work to cut boxes, bags, wire, rope, string, tape. Around the barn I've used it to dig abscesses out of hooves, lance blisters, sores, and castrate calves. Use it around the house the same as at work and I've used it a screwdriver, used it to pump diesel (hold the trigger up on the nozzle), and I've used it to cut meat when grilling or eating (if there isn't a more sanitary option available).

I have a bunch but got a new Benchmade 530 axis a couple of weeks ago. So far I really like it a lot. It's very narrow which makes it fit in my pocket well. I have a small benchmade assist that I really like but need to send it back to the company to get it worked on. Just not opening quite right. Also have a mini griptillian but it's too bulky and I have a infidel but it's too expensive to carry and too bulky.

I have a few gerbers and I wouldn't recommend as everyone I own has very soft metal for blades. You can sharpen them quickly but they won't stay sharp for long.

I do like kershaw's but like Benchmade better. Never had a Spyderco.

I rotate EDC knives from SOG, to several Benchmades, a Spyderco Manix 2 XL, pair of Microtech autos, and the latest is a Gerber Applegate Covert that has been less than impressive. I don't expect much from Gerber but screws shouldn't be held in by threadlocker. The auto version looks more promising; aluminum scales, S30V blade for $90.

That one, except mine has a combo blade. I use mine pretty much every day

I also have the Paramilitary but don't carry it too often. It's just a little too big for comfortable carry.

I really like the Gerber Dime that I received at a company function a few years ago. It folds up to about the size of a thumb drive, and fits it the small fifth pocket of my jeans.

The package opener on it is great, and I use it nearly every day. I used to carry a larger knife, but I find that this is actually far more practical for most applications. The built in bottle opener on the handle is also very convenient.

Yeah, it is a little big for most people, but I have always carried big folders so it doesn't bother me. Fits in every pocket I have

These look interesting, I kind of like the hole in the blade.

Swiss Army Pioneer in silver. I've had it for years and it's been able to handle anything I've needed it to do.

Either/Or

Top one is for cutting carboard paper when I make templates at work. Free from the tool room.

Bottom one is for when I need to slice an orange or a corner off a block of Bourgeois Turkey Cheese.
2 for $3.19 at Cannatas. ... keep the other one in my truck.

That's the spyderhole. It's used for one-hand open/close.

That's the exact model I have. I bought 2 of them. 1 to carry and 1 to put away.
