Yes, let me grab that link real quick.

Most zoos are not the SD zoo. Most zoos are shite holes that can't afford (or refuse to pay) a proper vet.

There is scientific data supporting that Mike is better off in his habitat than in the wild. Something to the tune of about 5 years longer lifespan. Dumbasses.

Doesn't LSU normally get the tiger from a zoo or something? It's not like they can now let him back into the wild.

LSU would save tons of money that could be used for minorities to get an education, if he was sent to the Tiger Truckstop.

Damn so much dumb & retard in this......this Mike was born in captivity....He has no idea what chasing arse or prey is.....he'd probably starve at chasing prey

You'd probably live longer too if you didn't drink any alcohol, or eat any meat.

Willing to go that route?

I think these protesters are idiots with no real solution. At this point, it's obvious Mike is better off where he is. However, on principle, I just disagree with the whole thing. Having a caged animal in captivity that is supposed to be wild (but never has been - key point), so some humans can stroke their ego over it a few weekends a year. It's just fricked up when you really think about it.

To be fair, those same humans have been throwing a fricking temper tantrum for about 1.5 years now b/c..."tradition".

The weekly "Fire Mike's vet!" threads are just full of dumbass.

Uhh yea. Why else would he exist?

I mean, answer that. Why DOES Mike exist as the LSU mascot? Why does any school have a live mascot?

The tiger is treated like a king, wish I had that life.

It's strange. I'd feel more comfortable with a stuffed version of Mike. How long does Mike have left?

People keep their own overgrown pets locked up cages all the time. Mike is treated like a king. Tony on the other hand... that cat needs a new home.

I bet most of those idiots haven't ever seen Mike's place. Don't let the facts get in way of emotion.

You'd certainly be safer in a padded cell, too. Even if you were served gourmet meals 3x a day, I doubt you'd like it, though

Depends on the alternative. Would you rather live in prison or sub-saharan africa?
