It seems pretty obvious to me that there would have to be at least some natural gender roles if you look at some of the simple physiological differences between women and men.

I always have looked at it like this - gender roles are heavily affected by social constructs, but social constructs are heavily determined by natural predetermination.

In my limited experience, self-described "feminist" are towards the left side of the IQ bell curve.

Gay friend of mine didn't start acting more gay until after he came out to everyone. Que the higher pitched voice, swapping truck for beetle, etc.

Human females' bodies naturally care for children for nine months prior to birth. Wouldn't the biological fact that women are equipped with a uterus suggest that there is a biological tendency to become the primary caregiver?

Yeah, and not to mention lactation after giving birth.

If we're basing this on logic, you got it opposite.

I assume you're straight. Think about how much you love chicks and how gross just the mention of 2 dudes are. The logic would suggest that no person born straight would freely CHOOSE to be gay. To say they would choose that would mean you could choose that if you wanted to. I don't know about you, but I couldn't enjoy being gay, so...

I pretty sure homosexuality, just like every other aspect of our character, is a mixture of genetic predisposition and environmental triggers.

This is an interesting topic. I know two guys that are gay. Both of these guys admit to having been molested my a male when they were younger.

So... did the Male molester just happen to pick the two male children that were "born gay" or did the first sexual exposure make them choose that lifestyle?

Also, my wife has a lifelong friend that came out late in life as a lesbian. Same scenario, molested by a woman. What drove what?

For the record, I know other gay guys but just haven't spoken with them about it.

So you are saying pedophiles are born that way? Pedophiles face much worse punishment than homosexuals. Are you saying they don't choose to be that way?

I really think people are born with a genetic tendency to be gay or straight.

I've said this before. I've seen 5 year old boys that you just KNEW would be gay. At 5, they would hang w/the girls at recess, and play jacks instead of getting involved w/the kickball/football game.

They were way too young to be thinking about sex, or orientation, but you knew they'd turn out gay. That's gotta be a genetic predisposition.

Funny/CSB.......

I was at a youth football game watching a client of mine's son play. He was the team's lil QB. This was full pads, kids were probably 7.

Another kid that was dressed out to play was hanging out with the team's lil cheerleading squad, waving shakers/pom poms, dancing around, whatever.

My friend/client looks at me and says "man, would you do me a favor? if you're ever at my son's game, and I'm not here, and he's got a shaker/pom pom in his hand, please beat his arse, unless he's trying to stick the thing IN one of the cheerleaders".

I did lol.

Is it possible that gender identity is a "born that way" dynamic as much as wanting a same-sex partner is a born that way dynamic?

It's certainly possible but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that there's some refinement done while growing up in a given society. Not so much nature vs. nurture as it is nature & nurture.

My sisters were big into dance growing up, started at a young age, took dance class all the time and were on dance teams all through high school. It was 99% girls at this dance studio they went to

The owner of the dance studio was a woman, and of course put her son through all these dance classes starting at a young age as well, so he grew up doing nothing but being in dance classes like ballet and tap and such with nothing but other girls, didn't play any sports just did dance class, and was friends with his fellow girl dancers the entire time growing up.

Of course he turns out queer, he is in college now full on gay.

Who didn't see this coming? Maybe if he played sports growing up or did guy things, instead of dancing with girls his entire childhood he doesn't turn out gay.

Society/environment and how a kid is raised definately influences how a kid turns out. Of course he turned out to be a feminine flamer, he was surrounded by girls growing up.

I just can't see this as having any implications about sexual or future sexual orientation. Despite perceptions, I don't see how sports are inherently hetero sexual. I have several straight friends that could not care less at all about sports.

maybe he wanted to dance and hang out with girls instead of playing sports because he was born a little fruity?

This girl I know is best friends with a gay guy. Actually gay isn't the right word, he wears makeup and high heels in public. So I guess he's trying to become a tranny.
