Don't consider yourself a loser, Rouge. I will bet that you are probably happier than a lot of your married friends. My son is 34 and has never been married. He's been seeing a wonderful woman for about a year and a half now. I think that they're pretty serious, but I do not think that either of them feel compelled to take the plunge. Enjoy your freedom!

Marriage is a brutal knockdown drag out heavy weight prize fight. Ask any fighter, it takes training, patience, persistence, and the ability to keep getting back up and trying again. When all said and done, it's definitely worth it, but it's not easy and it's not for everyone.

This is one of the best descriptions I've ever read

My deceased grandpa finally married at age 56. Had 4 kids. My grandmother was in her 30's when they married. Of course this was back in the 1930's.

Can't see myself doing that. I already have trouble keeping up with a toddler

Yikes! Well just be sure to be there for them when they go through their first divorces

I am a pretty good friend, so I'll be sure to do this.

My wife and I married later than most. We have a fantastic relationship....just needed time to meet right person. First marriage for us both.

If it ever happens, I'd rather have a first marriage like that than a string of crazy ex-wives like a few relatives and friends I know. Given the type of women that tend to settle for me, a crazy divorce always seemed more likely to me than a blissful marriage.

I disagree with the majority of opinions given so far.

Been married 21 years. Anything worth having comes from working hard for it and a good marriage is no different.

Anything that comes easy, goes easy and isn't really worth anything. That's the easy-come-easy-go relationships that you describe.

Getting older & not having the love of a family sounds depressing as hell.

But, I agree marriage isn't for everyone.

I am 40 and been married since late 20's. It has been a hard road a times, but worth the trip. People waiting for Mr/Mrs Right might be waiting for long time if they are picky and always looking for some flaw. Read my sig quote.
If not for my wife I would have a liver of a 70 year old and most likely an STD.

I posted a flippant response because it is what I do on here but the reality of things are what several posters have said....indirectly...There is no ONE course for every one. Some find the person for them and it happens when they are young...some older and some never. Marrying later when you know yourself and what YOU want is probably safer and smarter...but comes with it a different set of risks.

I would imagine that first time marriages that happen after the age of 30 or so probably last longer.

You will likely turn the corner one day and bump into the person for you....I can only hope you are as happy as I have been for 26 years...

Ok, back to being regular old LCA

No. Bow ties work. Hell, I haven't had so much sex since I was a Boy Scout leader.

Oh, wait . . . I think that came out wrong.

I'm 31 married 18 months. My wife does well for herself (better than me and most people) so that's not a problem. But with that comes trying to plan traveling around two people's schedules, which can be frustrating because I just want to take off a lot. Which wouldn't be all that fair to dump the two dogs on her.

So besides that things are cool.

I can't imagine the dude a few posts up with friends at 24 being married. Around the mid twenties was pretty great on the being single front.
