That's because you are an a-hole, which is why the OT likes you.

Marriage is hard work sometimes, and you shouldn't tie yourself to anyone that doesn't make you happy. If that never happens...don't worry about it.

This right here.

If you aren't happy before you get married, then you're placing some pretty high expectations on your spouse to keep you happy or else.

and all the time you waste in a failed marriage fricks you

typically people get fat, complacent, forget how to meet/interact with new people, etc

so when you are that 35 year old divorcee, your life can be much worse than the 35 year old who has never found "the one" but has had to maintain value and stay "in the game", etc

Marriage is a brutal knockdown drag out heavy weight prize fight. Ask any fighter, it takes training, patience, persistence, and the ability to keep getting back up and trying again. When all said and done, it's definitely worth it, but it's not easy and it's not for everyone.

Sounds like you are content in life, and that is all that matters.

There's a point where you move past "that cool single friend" all your friends wives will try to set you up with their friends to "that weird old dude" that's never been married

You are close to that point

I'm going on 32 and in a similar boat. Love my current girlfriend but don't think a marriage or kids are something I ever want to do. Been left for it before and likely will again

I am thinking it won't be long before he and Owlfan move in together and get a dozen or so cats.

It's a lot harder to stay single in the south. All the quality girls get married in their early twenties down here so you're left with the trash and the divorcees if you wait.

Honestly your best move is to marry a pretty AND successful broad in your twenties, then when her looks start to fade down the road, cheat on her with sorostitutes

Was about to say something similar. I have several female friends out here in their late 30s never married. That date other men in their late 30s/early 40s never married. None of them have kids. They basically all do what they want when they want and just enjoy life. Many of them travel a lot cause they can. My single gfs don't want kids though...I think that is key. They wouldn't mind getting married if they found the right person...but don't have that "I must get married so I can be a parent" mentality.

I turn 41 in about 3 weeks. Never been married.

Have been with the same chick for about 15 years and living in sin for the past 12ish or so. Don't need a piece of paper or ring.

Although it's probably a little unfair to her, but this way she can leave easily if she does get tired of my shite.

Neither of us want or wanted kids anyway.

Edit. If she did leave I would stay single and doubt I would ever live with another chick.

If you think women are looking for 40 year old men that have been jumping from woman to woman for 20 years then you don't know them very well.

Unless the 40 year old man is rich then that changes things
