Should be in one location, and reduce the number of sports. I remember hearing either Atlanta or LA have been the only cities to actually benefit from the games. I want to say Atlanta because the spread it out to surrounding cities.

Look up China's Olympic areas now. They are falling apart. And the U.S. tax $ is paying off their debts.

Agree with the sentiments that Paris is a major terrorism threat with their ghettos and ghettos of Muslims

I'm sure most will come from Belgium. There's a reason most of them go there to hide.

Is that 4,000 before or after they try to play soccer in 115 degree heat?

Aren't they playing it in November/December for this exact reason?

I do wish a 20 ton safe would fall on Bob Costas and someone other than NBC broadcast the games.

Tirico is taking over for Costas.

Ha a friend who had a family member managing a McDonalds. He brought stacks of game cards to me. USA gold meant Big mac, Silver was drink and Bronze was fries. They had a lot of obscure sports but USA won a bunch. We ate like hogs for months!

I love that cities are saying enough with the IOC bullshite. It's a fricking racket, and does a ton more harm than good for the cities that host.

I'm so happy Chicago never ended up getting the games. We have enough financial problems as it is.

Didn't Baltimore decline a bid? At least LA has all the infrastructure mostly already built

it was Boston that declined.

I have a ton of pictures of me as a 3 year old at the 1984 LA games with my dad, uncle and grandparents. I'm glad the games are coming back.

Baseball and Softball are making a return for Tokyo 2020 because they are letting the host country decide. LA will certainly include both events, but France is not big on the bat and ball sports.

Paris in 2028 would give more time for baseball and softball to try and get on their program, but I would guess Paris gets 2024.

Since Beijing in 2008, the IOC has stuck to a rotation of:
-Asia/Oceania
-Europe
-The Americas

The Olympic Village was in a pretty nice part of town when I was there. All they need to do is a bit of renovating of the village, just reuse the Bird's Nest (they don't use that place for anything these days), reform the swimming facility into the ice arena, and then make some passable slopes and they're good. China sure as shite is going to make sure it isn't a Sochi disaster.

Last I saw, the swimming facility is now an indoor water park.

That is a good line up of cities that shouldn't cause any major issues. Sochi and Rio were such f-ups.

Except for the mass amount of muslims that France let in. Guarantee a major attack or 3 happen at the Paris games.

Was a cluster. Bus drivers getting lost causing athletes to miss events, spectators dropping like flies from the heat without adequate water available...oh and then there was a terrorist attack. It was one of the most disorganized worldwide events ever held in North America.

I guess you missed the various street clashes between fans and police and the violence in Marseille between English and Russian fans. I agree, having the Olympics in Paris is going to be a security nightmare.
