My grandfather just finished his and he tied into the AC. Makes a 20-25 degree difference under the cover...pretty unreal. I thought he was pulling my leg first time I saw it

I am in Louisiana. Does that change anything?

Oh yeah, certainly aware of that. It's the "one" of many requests that my wife wants.

Would love to hear how this project turns out. I am about to begin looking as well. Not sure if I want to do it now or wait a year.

I disagree.

I am about to spend about 40-50K on one but it will be worth it. We cook outside constantly on a stand alone grill and burner. During football season I spend all Sunday outside grilling and cooking while watching football. We also entertain a lot and its nice to have an outside setup. We will probably use our inside kitchen about 15% of the time once this is done. Also, my wife hates the house smelling like food so this solves that problem as well.

I got some quotes a couple years ago but decided against it until I'm in a house I'll be in a little longer because everyone I talked to said you'll never get that money back when you sell

I am fully aware that I may not get my money back but I will probably be here for at least 10-12 years and I feel that pros of having it and enjoying it with my family outweigh whatever I may or may not lose financially.

Also, I am in Eunice, we never get back whatever upgrades we put into our houses

I've given myself a budget of $30K. Will be interesting to see if we can hold to this number or less.

With a budget like that I'd go for an outside wife too

Do you see yourself using the outdoor kitchen exclusively in the warmer months, or just a few times a week.

Also, why do outdoor gas grills cost so damn much compared to a stand alone LP/NG grill. $3 - $10K for just the top half of a grill is crazy. Are they made from titanium or something?

Only do it if you have a nice deck/outdoor area to go with it.

I plan on using mine year round. It will be deigned to where the rain and wind will be clocked for the most part.

As for the $$ grills cost these days, you can still find a weber drop in for $1500. I am going with the Fire Magic Aurora. My old man has the Fire Magic Echelon series and that thing is just way out of the budget. I am paying right at $5500 for the grill, burner, fridge, SS drawers, and SS cabinets. The grill was $3300.

They are usually made of 304 stainless or 443 stainless steel, which is corrosion resistant and does contain titanium.
