I have never heard of an outdoor kitchen but I am amused by the idea.

I can think of about three hundred million ways to better spend whatever it will cost you.

We don't plan on moving and want to enjoy spending time together as a family and with friends.

I've seen it done many times and not just in CCL

People put A/C vents on the outside? What in the hell is the world coming to?

Give Outside & In a call. It's my folks' store...based out of Houma but we've delivered and built/set-up as far as New Orleans, Morgan City, and Galliano/Cut Off. Only mentioning it bc you asked for recommendations for outdoor kitchens, and we just so happen to do those.

Not really. We have some roll down screens that cover the arches. Biggest problem is keeping the dog off the furniture.

Free standing.

Check your homeowner's insurance policy (you might have to call the agent.) On many policies a freestanding other structure that does not have a roof and walls is considered a non building structure and does not get replacement cost applied...

Good suggestion. Ours will have a roof, but technically no walls. We're with USAA - so going to look online at my policy.

Thank you.

Good examples of this are fences, pools, and freestanding carports...

I DIY'd mine except for the countertops. Came out around $6000+/-... roughly $4000 for grill, side burner & hood, $1000 for countertop, about $1000 cypress. Maybe $200 for sink, stucco, etc.

Not a separate structure though.

I can get you whatever you need to get the job done. I even have a contractor in Tenn. who I did a job with. Do you have an email address?

That Sonic ice may break the bank! You can get an appliance package anywhere from 3k to 12k. Vent hoods are costly and not very sexy but if you need one you will be happy you got it. There are really to many options to consider. The best thing to do is figure out your space and then select your appliances from there. You want it to function more than anything. Take into consideration how close the outdoor kitchen is to your indoor kitchen, you may nix the ice maker and fridge to save money. Always keep on mind the grill is the center piece and what you will use the most. You have a primo oval xl which is bad arse so you may not need or want a 3500-5000 grill. But it is the most used appliance in the outdoor kitchen.

That seems really high. I think you could do it for 10 or so depending on how fancy your fixtures and whatever appliances you want out there are.

I don't know what the OP's idea of an outdoor kitchen is but $10k doesn't qualify as an outdoor kitchen.
