Next door, used to be about 1.5 hrs, they bought the house next to mine when we had our first kid to be closer to them.

I like it. Far enough that they cannot just drop by whenever and close enough that they can come and go in the same day.

My father died many years ago and I lived as far from my mother as I could.

I have many siblings who lived within 65 miles of our mother. Guess who my mother called when she needed something........

It was worth every dollar I spent on plane tickets!
