I have a 2 year old and we go cruising and on dinner "dates" often. Which these days consist of a lot of chick-fil-a because it is the least trashy place that has a play area and she loves that shite.

I plan to take her to nicer restaurants when she gets older so that I can set her expectations correctly for how she should be treated on a date.

Really? You've never taken your mom or grandma on a "date"? Like out to a nice dinner and a play or something?

It's what a good son does for the only woman that will always love you.

I've certainly taken them to dinner, but I'd never call it a date.

Y'all are placing wayyyyyy too much sexual connotation on a word as simple as date.

Sheesh.

Dad and daughter is not a date

Taking your daughter on a date is not going to show her how she needs to be treated. Being a father is going to do that. If taking your daughter to dinner is such a big deal that you have to call it a date, you may want to rethink what you are doing.

Why do people have to make everything weird and overemotional.

This.

It's pretty obvious no one is pursing a romantic relationship with their daughter.

On a side note, my daughter is 6 months old and I was hoping for a son, but she is perfect...couldn't imagine loving a boy as much. (I'm sure I would, but girls are great.)

Sounds like you're the one making things weird and getting overemotional.

Why don't you define "date" for us then scooter. Since all the fathers here are obviously drooling idiots who can't figure it out for ourselves.

Oh wise one! Fill us with your unrivaled knowledge of what is and isn't considered a "date".
