I'll tell you the same thing I tell ULL engineers.

Nobody fails out of jag nation engineering and transfers to LSU.

Less than you are worth. Once they're paying more than you are worth you're expendable.

That's a great idea. It'll show a lot of confidence for someone with no experience and no professional value yet demanding well above industry standard in their first interview. What could go wrong?

Tokens can be expensive sometimes. Find out if they already have one and if they don't then shoot for $75k. If their quotas have been met then $60k sounds about right.

You're thinking of plant operators.

No, you interview, you see what they offer, and hopefully it's acceptable or you have another offer to leverage. I've never been I. A position where I'm the one asking for a particular salary. Just hear what they offer, tell them that you need to consider it and want to know how fast you can move up from that pay grade.

The SU FE exam passing rate is... not good. Students are totally unprepared to take it.

It's a gotdamn shame.

He's not eligible to sit for it, so he'll be looking for a fringe engineering position not one in design...I'm thinking safety or systems (reliability/requirements...) would be his best bet.

I'm not familiar with SU at all but I know someone going to the law school there. I looked it up and apparently it's terrible... their average accepted LSAT is something like 145 when the national average LSAT score is 150. Does SU have any good programs?

Why you throwing Ull in there, the program has its faults but it's still way ahead of SU.

I took what I thought was my best offer since it was my highest offer to work at Chevron's Richmond refinery for 71K a year. That check was spread so thin I should have been on food stamps and in section 8 housing.

At 71k per year? You must be terrible with money.

That's utter BS, unless by easy you mean being stupid with your money.

Well no single college guy should be in that much of a hole, but there's TONS of people who support families and shite on that income. If you've got two kids, a house, a wife, a few vehicles, and one bad decision you can suck that 71k down pretty easily.
