Fair point. He prolly does do a lot.

It just honestly hurts me to watch a daddy ignoring his kids, phone or no phone.

Maybe not. But millennial boy justified his phone absorption by saying he already did enough. KMA.

After a decent day at work today, I'm now heading to the store to pick up Taco seasoning before picking up the child at his daycare, driving home, playing in the yard for a while, he's on a watercolor painting kick right now, set up in garage, then making his dinner, making me and mommy's dinner, feeding him, cleaning up, getting him ready for bed because mommy isn't getting home until about 8, and I will probably be fricking around on my phone here and there over the next couple of hours too, because I'm a shitty father.

I might also drink alcohol in the presence of the child..

Agreed, babies don't keep, and it's always important to remember... but you're judging another parent from one tiny glimpse into their life.

But it makes him feel good about himself and that's all that matters.

It's a good move, promotes good etiquette. A lot of times people will try to act like they don't appreciate it or be a tough guy, but deep down they're grateful.

I agree, and I'm guilty as shite about it. Sometimes at a restaurant I look around and my wife, both kids, and myself are all on the phone. Society is addicted to phones like crack.

A few weeks ago I was watching football with three other friends and all of a sudden I noticed we were all on our phones, checking scores to other games, doing other BS.. Four people in the same room, watching a game.. And each one of us had our attention on our phones. I brought attention to it and it was funny at the time, but when you think about it... It's actually kind of sad.

Watched a youngish woman at a yogurt store (could have been a babysitter) with two 8-10 year olds- she never looked up from her phone or said a word. The kids sat quietly and ate the yogurt. Made me sad.

Nope. Raised two great sons by myself.

Me too. I've been trying to just put mine up in the closet on the weekend. It takes long enough to go get it to realize that most of the shite I'm going get it for is bullshite anyway. They'll always be another iPhone or td thread. My kids won't be 5 and 2 forever.
