He didn't use much wits when he made my face then

I really get that. And I know you are sincere and good hearted.
There are many answers. Maybe God's a jerk. Maybe he doesn't care. Maybe he's a lunatic, or senile. I don't think any of those things in my heart. But I've wondered at times. And God wasn't the least bit afraid of me wondering. And I found that wondering those things and really grappling with them brought me closer.
thanks
It's definitely okay to wrestle with those thoughts. Like you said, those are all answers but I dont think any of those in my heart. The answer I believe in my heart is the one I said. For me, understanding the effects of Sin was huge in helping me understand what kind of "person" God is. That's why I felt it was important to talk about here.

I'm still going to pronounce it the other way in my head. It sounds more like a dinosaur.

I'm philosophically more of a mystic than anything else. There are facts beyond the ken of science, and the deepest philosophical arguments turn into definitionally driven tautologies. What is left is faith. And I'm grateful to have it. I hope you find it.

What do you think of this?
In the beginning Man created God;
and in the image of Man
created he him.
2 And Man gave unto God a multitude of
names, that he might be Lord of all
the earth when it was suited to Man
3 And on the seven millionth
day Man rested and did lean
heavily on his God and saw that
it was good.
4 And Man formed Aqualung of
the dust of the ground, and a
host of others likened unto his kind.
5 And these lesser men were cast into the
void; And some were burned, and some were
put apart from their kind.
6 And Man became the God that he had
created and with his miracles did
rule over all the earth.
7 But as all these things
came to pass, the Spirit that did
cause man to create his God
lived on within all men: even
within Aqualung.
8 And man saw it not.
9 But for Christ's sake he'd
better start looking.

Terrific discussion. I gotta crash. Good night, all.

Goodnight fellas (or at least I assume it was all fellas). Great discussion.
Fr33, you'll be in my prayers, whether or not that means anything to you. And yes, I have said it twice in this thread, but it is not offered as just a sentiment.

I appreciate it. I need all the prayers I can get.

I got lucky and was born into the correct denomination. Pretty incredible since we make up only 0.03% of the US population. Sorry about the rest of you.

I was raised Baptist and converted to Catholicism.

Don't worry about us, we get to come back and give it another shot. Hindus too. I feel bad for the poor bastards that don't get a do-over.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one enters to the Father except through Me." That's pretty cut and dry, black & white. He doesn't say these people get in or those people don't. According to that, it does not matter who you are or what race you are. The only thing that matters is if you believe what He said or not.
Did Jesus really say that? That's great. Can I borrow the recording to make sure it's Him?
Oh. You mean, someone came along a hundred years later and TOLD everyone Jesus said this.

I will just toss this out there.
ECCLESIASTES 9:5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.

Visit different churches around your area. You'll know when you find the right one.
