If my dog eats anything with grains his farts are beyond terrible. This helps tremendously.

Some information I got when I was deciding said there are several good ones.. From there, there are only like 3 that did research to find a perfect recipe with extra nutrients.. And Royal Canin is the only brand that continuously is researching and changing their recipes.
But like you said, you're fine if you just read the label and choose one with real stuff in it.

great value animal food: canine formula. the one with the dog on the front.
"when he's hungry enough, he'll eat." and no, i don't ever say that; that's just the brand's slogan. it's true, though.
first ingredient: mcrib bones

Which is why I go with raw diet, I know exactly what is in it and I would eat it myself if it was cooked.

My female lab has allergies so I feed her Canidae. It does the trick.

Depends on where we get it.
Sam's - Purina One Lamb & Rice
Anywhere else - Rachel Ray if they have it. If not then Beneful Salmon & Rice.

Switched to Victor about 3 months ago, dogs love the shite out of it...more than any other food they've eaten and they've had Blue Buffalo, Diamond Naturals, and Precise Foundation
I had them on the performance formula and recently switched to their 5 star grain free adult formula
If you're near Denham, dodge city carries their whole line

I'll mix it up and get the Duck or Salmon recipe from time to time.

I've considered raw too. She loves meat. How do you do veggies? I don't think mine would eat a raw vegetable

always make sure that the product is made in the usa. lots of pet foods come from china and are poor quality. also make sure that the 1st ingredient listed on the package if it's chicken, is chicken, beef etc....blue is a good brand, but there aree several others.

Blue Buffalo Freedom
PS blue buff rep told me the Wilderness product by bb is for high energy very active dogs, like work dogs. It has dangerous amounts of protein for the average pet.

I make a glop out of it in a mixer so you can make a lot of it at once using a bunch of different veggies. Then you can just dish some out from the fridge easily. Plenty of recommendations and recipes on the net for what to put in it. Mine loves it, but she also eats veggies raw.

Never tried Victor but mine eat Blue Buffalo. Supposed to be a lot better for them but I'm sure I'm just paying for the label.
