To discuss the proposed pricing Uber would be required to abide by if in the city.
$25 min ride
$75 airport min cost

Due to the efforts of you and your fellow citizens, council members have gotten hundreds of tweets, emails, and phone calls saying that you want Uber with no price controls!
However, we need to keep the momentum going to reach our goal. Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 24th at 10am, the New Orleans City Council Transportation Committee will discuss these proposed changes. We want your voice to continue to be heard.
It is an open meeting and there will be a comment period so if you are available and want to speak or show your support through your presence, we would encourage you to come on down. We will be handing out stickers and key chains as well to help you show your support.

I agree. I have rarely spent more than $15 on a cab in NO excluding an airport ride.

I don't go to NOLA much and I certainly don't use the cabs, but I know those prices are bullshite.

exactly...uber out here is about the only way to get a cab. And they are johnny-on-the-spot too. I know lots of folks who use them during football season.

They probably wouldn't be competitive with those regulations, so there's no point in having it at all unless they let Uber do their thing.

It is. I know from Canal/Bourbon to Loyola area in Kenner it's $30.
Good thing about uber though is you know you can get a ride. Getting a cab to lakeview or Gentilly is next to impossible.
