Is give the worst bid to proteus. I like Rex and the history and they always have great throws. Proteus is total shite and it's like another poster said, they just look like they don't want to be ther.
Not every parade is Endymion where they bomb beads off of it. For many of the old line krewe's the parade means little compared to the other functions and balls

Gotta agree with LE here. That parade has looked the exact same for as long as I can remember. They top it off with never throwing shite.
Take away the prestige and history and put it on a weekday and you have a parade that no one would bother going to.

I've never liked Rex. Worst Metairie parade is Pandora, hands down.
Old lady calls me up to the float with a kid on my shoulders, kid thinking she getting something awesome, the lady hands her a doubloon, it was the Mardi Gras version of the nickel tip.
Even the police next to us where joking about how little they were throwing.

Grew up on the westbank in the 80's... do they still even have parades out there? I could swear choctaw and cleopatra used to run down Degaulle.

I came to post this. Their floats are terrible, they don't even parade in mid city, and they take up a prime permit spot on the best day for Uptown parades.

I enjoy their floats because they're unique. I think they don't roll in mid city anymore because of the city trying to standardize parade routes

They wear them foormal costyumes. My idear of a good time is a pack of Schlitz, some Menthol cigs, and some crackers to eat some cheese spread out of a can. I even bring my sofa and my own toilet out thear on the route. Yes sir, truck parades are theee best!
