Now they want to make it ok to smoke weeds. Enough is enough, I don't want to walk around the city and smell criminals smoking pot. Time to move out this stinking city.

I wonder how great a city New Orleans would be if prohibition was still around today? Would we be a tourist city? Could we actually laissez les bon temps without alcohol? I wonder if the legalization weed will increase the revenue generated from tourism in New Orleans?

The city ordinance does not allow for smoking in public

Doesn't mean they won't. Cops will have to waste resources policing people smoking it or ignore it. I'm sure they will just ignore it.

Of course Kermit is at the top of the list.

I'd expect no less. I've seen him perform twice in a year, and he uses that little joke somewhere in the performance - "I've stopped smoking reefer... but I did for ya'll tonight!"

The sign out front at Rock n Bowl cracks me up.
It says something about smoking area in the rear, tobacco only. This means you Kermit.

You won't have to. With this law, they won't be criminals anymore.

So STFU and stop crying.

As someone who works in law enforcement and am in and out courts in Orleans. I am so for this. No judge convicts anyone when its just a weed charge. If we add other drugs and a weapon thats a different story. Just weed though? No one gets convicted of that. Its a waste of my time and your money. Might as well make money off of it instead of enforcing a law that doesnt hold up in court.

You can always catch an uber ride if you don't want to walk around. It's super cheap and efficient. You barely have to wait for the driver

They could choose to enforce city law or state law.

Can we also reform the Public Intox law into making it a ticket offense rather than an arrest? Asking for a friend.
