This is an easy fix. Dress in black, wait until the wee hours of the morning, slink over to their house, open the cable wiring box on the outside of the house, grab a handful and rip those frickers out. Nothing says retribution like taking away a boy's internet.

Cut your grass at 6am every Saturday morning, and weed eat Sundays at 6am.

Look, I'm not saying you're right in this situation, 8:30pm is my vote. It's a reasonable hour to put a kid to bed. You can't let him talk to you like that though. If someone talked to me like that, I'd fight them on the spot, but it's because if I feel angry enough to tell you something, I'm already prepared to fight anyway.

This shite reminds me of my wife when she was working night shift. She would get completely fricking pissed because someone was cutting their grass midday and it woke her up.

Told her it's 1pm, deal with it.

Get a box fan for the kids room, leave it on all night. This is what we do and it works just fine.

I'm sure that went over really well.

I've never understood how someone cutting their grass would wake someone unless it's right outside your bedroom window. But I can sleep through just about anything.

Probably because your parents didn't complain about every little noise and you learned to deal with it on your own.

R/C Cars? How loud can they be? Arent they electric?

Also my late mother in law had one piece of advice that proved true. Run the vacuum cleaner at night. The kids learn to sleep through it then wont wake up every time they hear the slightest noise.

I'd be pretty annoyed if I owned a home and a neighbor who rents asked me to keep it down after 7pm. I'm not certain the neighbor owns his home, but if that's the case that could explain his response.

You were worried for your kids? For being awake?

Can we just agree right now that he's not at all worried for his kids? Kids are much easier to deal with when they are asleep. He's worried about himself. Which is all well and good, no judgment here. But let's not pretend it's for the kids.

People are so fricking dramatic these days haha. Every new parent make every situation out to be like they are a mother pelican feeding their babies with their own blood.

Kids are resilient little buggers, theyll be fine. They also are grade-A, world class, professional sleepers. After a long day of doing shite, you could hang a tired toddler out of speeding train by the foot, and that fricker would fall asleep within 5 mins.

I never once received a ticket or warning for running my RC cars in the street when I was in the hobby.

Cause they let it go....if someone were to call the police and say "I almost wrecked because these kids are operating remote controlled cars in the middle of a street", you would be shut down and warned.

What I'm getting at is that it would be in the best interest of the neighbor not to have the police called. He should agree that 7 pm is a good cutoff time.

If he has an association, it wont be pretty if the association gets involved. They would ban it altogether if a safety issue is involved. They have to to cover their liability

And I'm sure it's been discussed, but what adult plays with RC cars?

RC Cars that run on Nitro Methane or even batteries that are capable of 40, 50, 70 and even 100+ mph are certainly not kids toys.

That's one hell of a reach.

I disagree. What about a remote controled helicopter.

Look, all Im saying is its in the best interest of the rc car guy to NOT be a dick. A complaint to the police will NOT work in his favor. Toys are fine, but when used on public roadways, they arent going to win that battle.

Same thing goes for a off road motorcycle or an electric toy car a kid rides in. If its brought up, the cops will tell them "no roadway use"

After 7?

GTFOver yourself. That's part of having neighbors. Don't like it? Move to the country.

I didn't say it was a kids toy. I said what adult plays with RC cars. There's a difference.

And samurai swords and ninja stars aren't kids toys either, but I think it's pretty lame for an adult to play with them regularly .
