When my oldest daughter was a toddler, she had a toy phone that would say "hello" and "goodbye" when the receiver was picked up and put down. The day one of my best friends was buried I was sitting on the couch and my daughter was asleep on the loveseat. The phone was on the other side of the room and suddenly it said "hello". I stared at it for several minutes and then it said "goodbye".
I do realize that there is 99.9% probability that it was just a malfunction, but I like to believe it was my friend saying goodbye. It never did that before or after.

Also. Though I have never seen an apparition, I have had many instances in my life that are unexplainable. Lights coming on, doors opening and closing. Shadows just out of sight.
Stuff that is probably natural but you never know. I don't pretend to know anything about this universe. Just know there's a lot more to it than most want to admit.

My parents knew and spent some time around this guy named Larry Gene Bell that was executed by the state of South Carolina for murdering two people and harassing the family of one of his victims

Larry Gene Bell wiki

They weren't super close but I guess their social circles overlapped or my parents were close with one of his siblings. Anyways Larry would always refer to my mom as "Sandee" or "denise" (I can't remember) which was not her name. Everybody chalked it up to Larry being kinda weird or just oblivious and it became a running joke.

Turns out he is the prime suspect in their disappearances but is never charged.

The FBI showed up to interview my mom and they told her she looked almost identical to Sandee or Denise (again I can't remember which)

Obviously no pics of my mom but here is a picture of the chick he was executed for murdering who does also kinda look like my mom

And here is a thirty minute dateline wannabe crime show on Larry Gene Bell

Damn! thats pretty wicked.. would creep me out for sure.

I'm old now, but a family friend of my mothers when I was a little kid, a lady that babysat me all the time, once went on a double date, and her friend's date was none other than Jeffery Dahmer, before he was infamous, obviously.

I've never posted that here, or anywhere, so idc about people believing me, just thought I'd share.
Always thought it was my weird factoid of pop culture.
Fwiw, our family friend who went on the double date with Dahmer ended up fine and living normal life. I didn’t learn of this from my parents until after I was older and she moved away & was out of our lives.

Oh, I know.
Don’t get me wrong, the short movie of it is pretty decent on its own. But the written account of it is haunting, I guess we all picture it differently in our heads. So it’s different for everyone.. it’s art.

My sister's three year old creeped me out a month or so ago.

His brothers ran into off the porch into the yard to play and he stayed on the porch, just sort of watching them.

I asked him if he was going to play and he said no. Just nonchalantly, "No."

"Why not?"

"Because the ghost is over there."

"Where?"

Points to big oak tree. "There."

And he just keeps watching his brothers.

I asked him: "what color is the ghost? White?"

"Blue. I'm going inside now."

And with that he turned and went back inside. And I followed.

Kids can be creepy

I will add a couple of my own these are both very much true but nowhere near as good as a lot of what'd been posted.

Mom's best friend lived in an old antebellum home in Biloxi the she and her husband at the time(who was actually a former LSU running back) that was supposedly haunted. We would always be over there and it was routine to hear sounds in the huge room style attic it had. Mainly footsteps but often would also sound like chains dragging. They said anything they put up there would always end up being moved to onse and piled in a corner of the attic. Anything from gym equipment to beds to rugs etc. I heard the noises many times but never saw anything getting moved or anything like that. The most creepy part of the whole thing though was they had a preacher come once to do some yard work type stuff which was the guys week day type side job. He said he looked up and saw a young woman in a torn grey dress or something similar in the attic window looking at him and said it looked like she had a chain around her neck. He went in the house to see what was going on but did not see anyone and told my mom's friend that it was spirit and that it was not a kind one. He refused to ever go back. They lived in the house another 10-15 years without any real trouble other than still the noises and not being able to set up anything in that room until HUrricane Katrina took the house.

The other one is a friend of mine who lives in Op, AL and the bought a house on a good sized peanut farm there. In buying the house they found out the man who owned it previously was a real prick mean to everyone, own family hated him etc. Well he died and they couldn't sell the place fast enough. So not long after they moved in they started have weird stuff happen but the most bizarre things were my friends mom saw an old man staring at here through the kitchen window from inside she was outside and her brother saw an old man walk down a hallway one night really late. I even had an experience there myself as we used to go over there to go hunting a lot(no drinking family was very religious) and while sleeping on an air mattress one night someone stepped on the corner of the mattress and just stood there. I though it was gonna my buddy or one of his brothers getting up to go to the bathroom or something but they were all in the beds when I looked up and as soon as I picked my head(I was wide awake the while time it did not wake me up or anything I was wide awake when the corner of the mattress was stepped on) to look whatever was crushing down on the air mattress got off of it and there was nothing there. The guys were all on the total other side of the room is was absolutely not them. But maybe the weirdest part of it is all this is there was this weird hole in their yard that hard a big gnarly scrub type bush growing out of it. No matter what they did the hole and scrub was always there. They dug it out by the roots and filled the hole in but slowly it would wash itself back out and the bush would grow back. Sprayed it, burned it, etc tried everything. So this went on for years and I was there for several of the attempts to get rid of it. Eventually the grandpaw that lived there with them got into poor health and a few days before he died he told my friend's mom that he could now see the old man that owned house before and that he was mad that they were living in his house and all the stuff that was going on there was him. He said that when he finally died that he would take care of it. Basically saying he was gonna run the spirit or whatever of the old man out of the house. Well he died and I guess he did it. Within a couple of weeks of him dying that scrub bush thing died too and they cut it down and it never grew back and have not had any more of the noises or sightings etc ever since then.

I know these aint that great but it's all I got ha.

On this very night, ten years ago...
Along the same stretch of road...
In a dense fog, just like this...
I saw the worst accident I ever seen.

There was this sound...
Like a large garbage truck...
Dropped off the Empire State Building...

And when they finally pulled the driver's body...
From the twisted, burning wreck...
It looked like...

THIS!

I have always envisioned smiling man as a vampire. That being said I want to share a story told to me by a friends father.
My buddies dad told us that when he was in high school in the late sixties, he was coming home after dropping off his now wife from a date. A twelve mile trip that I now travel daily to work. In those days a stretch of that road was wooded on one side. It was summertime, but as he neared those woods it suddenly became cold and extremely foggy. He slowed down, his windows were down because it was 1968 and no ac. As he approached the end of the wooded area he saw a figure on the side of the road, thinking it was hitchhiker. But as he neared he saw that it was a man, dressed in tuxedo, with a top hat and cane, extremely pale , and only smiled at him as he drove by. He floored it, obviously, and went home, telling his parents about it.
I questioned his father, my buddies grandad, back in the 90's, and he confirmed that, while he couldn't testify to what his son had seen, he could definitely testify to the fear he saw that night. This was from a man who had seen action in WW2 and definitely knew what fear looked like.

I remember my son in our first house would wake up with night terrors. It was always the same would be terrified and screaming and pointing to a corner of the room yelling for it to go away. He looked wide awake but in a dazed state. He did it for a couple years until we moved. Has never done it any other place we lived or anywhere else. Definitely freaked out wife and i.

Here's another.
When I was around twelve I was staying at my Great Grandmother's house and my cousin, who was around five, wanted to toss his toy football back and forth. Where he was standing had direct line of sight into the living room. After several tosses I threw one that hit him in the chest and fell to the floor. He was just staring into the living room. I asked him what was up and he replied, "There's a man there smiling at me". The only "man" in the house at the time was my Great uncle who was watching tv on the other side of the house. I said "is it your papaw?", and he said "no". I jumped to where I could see and there was nobody there. He turned his head and said "he's gone now. But he's in that picture" and he pointed to the wall behind me. He was pointing at a picture of my Great grandfather, who had passed away before either of us were born.
