I still find it pretty amazing an island country with limited resources or population was basically able to rule the known world for a time.
From Hong Kong, India, Africa, Australia ,the USA, and so on. Wow.. gotta love their zeal..

It was transferred between being a Dutch colony and English colony two or three times from 1760, to about 1806. It ended with being an English colony.
